Teddy Hamilton is my favorite male narrator so I was very excited that he’s narrating the whole series. Desiree Ketchum also does a great job.

I’m late in reviewing these, idk why. But Steele is definitely my favorite. This series is for us dark romance girlies who love an absolutely unhinged MMC. I love this whole series, but Steele and this book just really fit my particular brand of spice.

Background sounds are too loud

I think the cinematic production is unique and honestly cool, but the background sounds need to be slightly quieter. They were often distracting and found the narrator hard to hear at times.

No thoughts, just vibes. Narrators are solid though

No thoughts, just vibes. Truly throw thoughts out the window, but solid start to the series. Rika is a baddie. Michael should’ve groveled. Really that’s it.

I will be thinking about Ch.25 for a while 🥵

I need more dark romcoms in my life

I’ve read this both on ebook and audiobook now and it was just as good the second time! It is duet style narration which is my preferred kind of audio. Joe Arden & Lucy Rivers did such a great job narrating this. Idk how Joe Arden does accents so well, but his French accent for Rowan was so good 🫠

This is my 3rd book by Brynne Weaver and she’s definitely made it on to my “must read” list. She manages to take the high stakes, tension filled aspects I love from thrillers and combine it seamlessly with the angst, intensity and passion of dark romance, while also adding in some RomCom humor.

Did I ever think I’d read a book that would have me laughing during a chapter/scene with accidental cannibalism? Nope but here we are 🤣😅

I need more Dark RomCom books in my life and I’m excited this is the start of a trilogy!

DO NOT read this if you are even remotely squeamish. I apologize in advance if you really love Orzo pasta or cookies & cream ice cream.

I read this as an ebook when it first came out, and WOW the audiobook is even hotter.

Lena Hendrix always excels at writing steamy, small town romances. The tension/angst is great, and the characters will make you laugh. I mean…there’s a chicken funeral in this one 😂

One thing I like about Lena’s books is that the small town is usually like a character itself. Outtatowner, Michigan is quirky and fun, with weird nicknames for everyone and a decades-old feud between 2 families.
