I doubt anyone could have been found who could have narrated this book with a more sinister tone. The Screwtape Letters is a work everyone who names the name of Christ should read or listen to. Lewis' insight into the weaknesses of the human psyche is on full display. The addition of the short title "Screwtape Proposes a Toast" was the veritable icing on the cake.

This is a wonderful, helpful book. It doesn't need "embellishments" like voice characterizations for quotations.

I found this book to be a very clear and concise explanation of the central tenets of Biblical teaching. It also contains a good summary of some of the major heresies that led to the formulation of the creeds followed by the church and a brief history of the church itself.
I recommend it, not only to individuals, but I would suggest it for small group study, especially for newer Believers or those just starting to grow in spiritual maturity.

The greatest message told honestly, clearly and completely. Are there hard sayings in the Bible? Absolutely! However, they are only hard to those whose hearts are still hard and untouched by the saving grace of the One True God as revealed in the Bible. Washer expounds upon the critical aspects of the Gospel and ways that the modern western church and many who profess to be followers of Christ have forsaken the plain teachings of Scripture.
Like the Prophets of Old Testament Israel, Washer brings a clarion call to turn from our sins and recognize Jesus as our King and Redeemer.
