Historia
The enemy marches on. While hope is fading, all is not lost. Grayson has information that could change the outcome of the war. He's beaten but not broken and ready to rejoin the fight. Except, his failing starship is weeks away from the nearest port. Except, slowing the aliens means convincing sworn enemies to join forces in a fight they cannot win. Except, his only chance at victory may rest in a derelict ship floating beyond the edge of space.

A perfect end to a perfect series.
Revisado: 07-10-20
Gods, this final installment was beyond expectation. The way Forbes covered back on the prior three books, filling in the gaps and tying the whole saga together was pure masterful.
This series was superb, each character no matter how minor became important to you, each morning my commute to work I found myself gripped, pulling for the heroes and sitting the few extra minutes in the car to finish a chapter.
The ending was painful, yet fitting, and wasnt given away too early. The epilogue allowed for the happy wrap up we all wanted. The sphere is finally safe, and the world goes on. I dont know what I'm going to do now without another story of Stone and Rozik.

Historia
Events on Naraka leave Grayson exhausted but hopeful. The invaders may not be as unstoppable as he thought, and the entire weight of the Alliance is about to enter the fray. Rejoining the Navy should bring closure to his ordeal and allow him to return to his life as a pilot. Except his mesh partner is still stranded on a freezing planet. Except his past refuses to let go of his future. Except the man he trusted to rally the defenses may have sabotaged them instead.

Help isnt always helpful
Revisado: 05-15-20
The former soldier in me had to cringe and just how realistic some parts of this story were, mostly the bureaucracy. I never thought I could look so poorly at the AoP, yet here I am, waving my own commune flag.
Its book 3 and Stone has finally made it home. The expectations the prior two stories had set up for me, were totally shattered, and I was left gripped at how this story built back up. Once again new characters are never glossed over, keeping the mental painting of what is being told to us very vivid, expansion of what we know about the banshees is splendid, building a fantastic Sci-fi villain.
Book three will take you through excitement, hope, anger, let down and leave you hanging on tight to yet another M.R. Forbes cliffhanger end. If you need a great Sci-fi series to start, this is the one!
Pros:
Memorable characters
Deep vivid world
total lack of slow down, no filler
cons:
not enough Rozik this time! 1/100,000,000,000th of a star removed.

A stellar sequel to the interstellar tale
Revisado: 03-25-20
Where Star Fire was a little slow to start, Star Kill hit the ground at sprint and never slowed down. Picking up direct from the end of book one, we are again given a view of our Alliance and Commune "heroes" as they seek out aid to warn their governments of the Banshee threat.
The story stays gripping, even during the more relaxed events, as Forbes masterfully paints us a Sci-fi masterpiece. Character development is top shelf, and the introduction of new characters is done well, especially with the unexpected little hero of the story, a personal new favorite character I hope we see more of.
As was in the first book, the narration is fantastic, which was expected with the role not being changed. I wish I could find a fault in this book, as I dont want to sound like I'm just giving lip service, but I honestly cant. I loved every second from "cover to cover".
This series is a must have, and M.R. Forbes is quite possibly the finest sci-fi author you may not have heard about before. A true 10/10 all around

While his ship is badly damaged in the assault, Grayson manages to survive. Suddenly trapped behind the front line of the invasion and faced with gut-wrenching choices and near-impossible odds, he'll do whatever it takes to escape the grasp of the terrifying new enemy.

A writer you have to check out
Revisado: 03-08-20
Star Fire is a story that needs to be heard. Forbes delivers a fine sci-fi survival narrative, presented in first person, that paints a picture of a horrible alien first contact. The characters will become endeared to you throughout and you will find yourself pulling hard for their victories.
The presentation put me in mind of Philip K. Dicks style in "Do Androids dream of electric sheep" The narration is fantastic, and there is no filler in the plot used to drag out pages.
Most importantly it left me craving more, to continue the story, to see the characters unfold further and see how it all finally ends. Wonderful work by a fantastic author
