Historia
Mackie is a Replacement — left in the crib of a human baby sixteen years ago. Now, because of fatal allergies to iron, blood, and consecrated ground, Mackie is slowly dying in the human world. Mackie would give anything to live among us. He just wants to play bass guitar and find out more about an oddly intriguing girl named Tate. But when Tate’s baby sister goes missing, Mackie is drawn irrevocably into the underworld of Gentry, known as Mayhem....

Very Dark but Interesting
Revisado: 03-29-14
Initially I thought it wasn't going to be that great but perhaps an hour in it started to get interesting and I couldn't stop. It does get a bit of a drag listening to the main character moan a lot about all the things that's wrong with him but the strange bond he has with the town and his weird people is intriguing. I like his assortment of friends as they're odd in their own ways too which fits his character quite well. The visual descriptions are great and I will be rereading it again just to enjoy those descriptions again.

Historia
My name is Peter Grant, and I am a keeper of the secret flame - whatever that is. Truth be told, there's a lot I still don't know. My superior Nightingale, previously the last of England's wizardly governmental force, is trying to teach me proper schooling for a magician's apprentice. But even he doesn't have all the answers. Mostly I'm just a constable sworn to enforce the Queen’s Peace, with the occasional help from some unusual friends and a well-placed fire blast.

Best one yet in the series!
Revisado: 03-26-14
I've read through the previous books in this series as fast as I could and really loved every one though this one was probably my favourite as many of my curious questions were answered about Peter Grant and Nightingale and Leslie and now I crave more answers so I hope the wait isn't too long!
Excellent ending too! Didn't expect any of it and had to re-listen just to curb my astonishment as it was hard to grasp that bit at the end!

Best Adventure I've read in Ages!
Revisado: 03-26-14
I didn't think I'd like this book in the beginning as it started out so vague and confusing but as it went on the vagueness and confusion just made me understand the main character more and what he was going through in this new environment. The supporting characters were very interesting too and the monsters and the description of the maze was intriguing. I wasn't able to stop listening to this once I started and brainwashed myself listening to it in a full day. Then I had to re-listen the next day to grasp what I'd read as there were parts I wanted to hear again. I wish there was another book describing the Glade and the Maze and the experiences these characters had there. Even the way the author described the food made me hungry. Really good read and now I feel unable to find anything as good as this so I'm in withdrawal!

Not as good as Maze Runner but still gripping
Revisado: 03-26-14
Only downside was the main character, Thomas who seemed to be only focused on his romances during disasters. That got a bit tiresome. The story otherwise was fascinating and I couldn't stop once I'd started listening. Not as exciting as the first in the series but still just as gripping though I found I liked the character, Newt which is why I won't read the third in the series. I love the visual pictures I got in this series. The monsters and the landscape descriptions were brilliant!

Historia
Benson Fisher escaped from Maxfield Academy's deadly rules and brutal gangs. The worst was over. Or so he thought. But now he's trapped on the other side of the wall, in a different kind of prison. A town filled with familiar faces. People from Maxfield who Benson had seen die. Friends he was afraid he had killed. They are all pawns in the school's twisted experiment, held captive and controlled by an unseen force.

Really Irritating Main Character
Revisado: 03-26-14
I liked the first in the series and had to know how the first one developed so I got "Feedback" and was hugely disappointed. The main character is only focused on teen romance which is tiring after a while when the main focus of the story is escaping their situation. But the main character just worries about his relationships rather than the imminent danger all around him. It got so irritating towards the end that I was hoping the guy would die and so I could end my frustration listening to him whine and moan and not escape. Such a pansy character. Read the first in the series, Variant but not this one unless you like characters who have no guts, talk too much and moan about their misfortunes. It was tedious.

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Great story but horrific narrator...
Revisado: 06-03-13
Story was great but narrated by a guy who has no clue how to do a British accent and as I'm a Brit it was very difficult to listen to someone mangle the accent so badly. I wish the story had picked up faster in the beginning but it was difficult to stop once Jacob got to the island.
