Helpful for anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimer's
Revisado: 02-10-25
This book was very helpful for me in learning to better communicate and understand my dad who has Alzheimer's. This book was recommended to me and I'm grateful for that. I'd like to recommend it as well and hope that it is as helpful to others as it was to me.

Lots of value in this book
Revisado: 11-09-24
I listen to a significant number of self-help, self-improvement, business, and non-fiction books each year. This one stood out to me. I see this book helping me with communication in many aspects of my life, especially with my business (I am a solopreneur), I am also a youth baseball coach, and travel ball parents can be the most challenging people on earth to communicate with. But, I'm also hoping to learn to better communicate with my loved ones and improve the understanding in my relationships.

I liked this book a lot
Revisado: 07-30-24
I have listened to many self help books and I really liked this book. There are some religious references (I don't consider myself religious) but they weren't annoying to me in anyway. Overall, I got a lot of benefit and value out of listening. Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but I will probably listen to it again in the future because I was distracted at times and I think I missed some good stuff.

I considered moving on to a new book once I realized the target was mompreneurs, but I became too wrapped up in it. I think this is a very helpful business book for entrepreneurs and solopreneurs.

Historia
There is an unofficial rule for success: You need to change who you are to achieve greatness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. What if you could leverage your so-called vices and shortcomings and make them your super powers? Rare Breed is an unorthodox business book for the rebels, outsiders, and provocateurs - anyone with the ambition to lead, create, inspire and provoke change on your own terms by owning all of who you are, not just the pretty parts. But be careful, each virtue has a seductive and dualistic nature that can lead to success or sabotage.

Great book, but felt like the Breed is exclusive
Revisado: 10-01-20
I enjoyed this book and there was a lot of great stuff in it. I just felt that it was mostly exclusive regarding the rare-breed examples/role models that were mentioned. Made me feel like rare-breedism is reserved only for those with certain political views/beliefs, which I kinda felt went against the message of the book. But, whatever, perhaps that means there is even a rarer breed?

Historia
Chris Coste dreamed of playing major-league baseball from the age of seven. But after 11 grueling years in the minors, a spot on a major-league roster still seemed just out of his reach, until that fateful call came from the Philadelphia Phillies in May 2006. At age 33 (going on 80), Coste was finally heading to the big time. The 33-Year-Old Rookie is like a real-life Rocky, an unforgettable and inspirational story of one man's unwavering pursuit of a lifelong goal.

Great Baseball Book!
Revisado: 04-04-19
I enjoyed hearing Chris's story. It illustrates how difficult it can be to make it to major league baseball. It is a great reminder that it is not always skill level that determines whether or not you make it, but it is determination and not giving up. My 10 year old son enjoyed listening as well.
