Historia
Pamela Paul has kept a single book by her side for 28 years - carried throughout high school and college, hauled from Paris to London to Thailand, from job to job, safely packed away and then carefully removed from apartment to house to its current perch on a shelf over her desk - reliable if frayed, anonymous-looking yet deeply personal. This book has a name: Bob. Bob is Paul's Book of Books, a journal that records every book she's ever read.

Enjoy books? You’ll see yourself in this one!
Revisado: 02-28-20
As a reader, I loved this book about a book of books! I found myself imagining the different scenes across chapters, feeling like I was living the story of Pamela Paul’s BOB, as she was sharing it.
The love of books is very apparent in her tone, and the word choices in some places astounded me with how particular, yet accessible, and perfectly placed, they were.
I wish I could write a more substantive review right now, but as I’m limited by time, I’ll just reiterate and expand upon the title of this one:
If you are a book lover, if you’ve read books throughout your whole life, or at any particular period of life, and if you find you’re one who can get lost in a book because you’re so eager to experience whatever the story may be, you will undoubtedly find yourself, or at least features of yourself, in various parts of this book.
Definitely recommend for book lovers, but I also recommend it for anyone who has the desire to read more and maybe needs a book that provides motivation, which is definitely accomplished here.
I came away from this book after pausing it many times to jot down words/definitions I may not know, as well as a list of books mentioned in this memoir, to add to my own to-be-read list.

Glad I read this at the start of the new decade
Revisado: 01-10-20
Nothing too profound to say here that hasn’t been said by other reviewers, but I will chime in and say I also found myself unable to turn it off once started, though I had to take a break for other reasons. I still finished it in ~2 days, and I’m so glad I used a credit for it. 100% worth it, and the timing is perfect for me (my particular life situation involves many chronic illnesses and the concepts in this book apply so perfectly well, I can see myself going back to reread this one for encouragement and a sense of camaraderie .
Even though it’s short, the memoir not only tells of her life, but draws you in because yes, you indeed feel the exact same way, and yes, you can relate because you can automatically feel the message resonating, before having made it through chapter 1. I also appreciate that this book covered exactly what it set out to cover, and the personal anecdotes added so much to the message that they weren’t distracting as they can be in some works.
Hearing the author herself read it was great – I just always love hearing an author’s work, especially a memoir, in his/her own words, because only that author knows the exact way things were intended to be.
You won’t regret this one if you’re needing some encouragement with a healthy dose of laughter to balance some of the more serious topics. Absolutely recommend.

Plot twist got me again!
Revisado: 07-15-19
I’ll keep it short and sweet. This series does not disappoint. Every book I think I’ve figured it out by the end, and there’s always an extra plot twist or two I never saw coming. I even read this thinking I had figured out one thing the entire time, only to realize it’s merely tangential to the main plot. Love the ride these books provide!

Engaging, as always!
Revisado: 01-07-19
I love this series. And I’m only 2 books in! If you like cozy mysteries, early 20th century England and it’s ilk, and if you like not being able to figure out the mystery until it hits you in the face before you see it coming, as was the case for the previous book. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

Amazing! So much more insight for the album!
Revisado: 09-27-17
I thought Dillon narrated this perfectly. I was able to easily see the pictures he was painting with his words, and after having listened to the Drifting album for a little while now, I’m so glad to have this story as reference. I would have read it sooner, but can’t read stories in print, and didn’t know it was on Audible, too. The level of depth this gives to an already miracle-inducing album is extraordinary! Trust me, you don’t want to miss this story OR the album!
