Historia
The average person lives with an experience of the world that is rooted in fear, worry, and anxiety. The most common way this manifests is in a persistent sense of discontentment. Something just doesn’t feel quite right. That something is usually hard to put a finger on. It’s often just a feeling that haunts us in the background, one that leads to endless soul-searching and goal-striving. You may be surprised to learn that life doesn’t have to be this way.

Amazing book chronicling the changes that happen as people move through stages of “fundamental well being” which seems like it’s lined up with self-actualization on Maslow’s heirarchy.

Historia
Philosophy begins with questions about the nature of reality and how we should live. These were the concerns of Socrates, who spent his days in the ancient Athenian marketplace asking awkward questions, disconcerting the people he met by showing them how little they genuinely understood. This engaging book introduces the great thinkers in Western philosophy and explores their most compelling ideas about the world and how best to live in it.

Perception is the foundation of human experience, but few of us understand why we see what we do, much less how. By revealing the startling truths about the brain and its perceptions, Beau Lotto shows that the next big innovation is not a new technology: It is a new way of seeing. In his first major book, Lotto draws on over two decades of pioneering research to explain that our brain didn't evolve to see the world accurately. It can't!

Will change the way I teach forever!
Revisado: 08-06-18
I teach creativity and design software- and as a teacher I have been looking for good insights into the way the brain actually creates new thoughts rather than remembering a previously experienced (or perceived) thought. An amazing blend of neuroscience, creativity, philosophy, and perspectives on literally changing minds- which is what learning is at its core.
Great insights into creativity for educators or somewhat experienced creatives in general on how to spark creative diversions to help get out of a design or workflow rut. Without doubt one of the most thought provoking books I’ve read... even purchasing the print version just to hilight and quickly reference later.
Agreed the narration (who I believe is the author?) is not spectacular- but it didn’t get in my way at all. Watch a couple of his talks on video and when you can see his mannerisms that accompany his voice- it felt more natural for me.

Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

Historia
Heavily tattooed and foul-mouthed, Nadia Bolz-Weber, a former stand-up comic, sure as hell didn't consider herself to be religious-leader material - until the day she ended up leading a friend's funeral in a smoky downtown comedy club. Surrounded by fellow alcoholics, depressives, and cynics, she realized: These were her people. Maybe she was meant to be their pastor. Using life stories, Nadia uses humorous narrative and poignant honesty to portray a woman who is both deeply faithful and deeply flawed, giving hope to the rest of us along the way.

Historia
This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

Perfect zombie book... Good humor and action
Revisado: 07-03-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. Without doubt, my fave series ever in the genre. If you're a fan of zombie books and also love a sarcastic lead character, you'll love it. Shocked at the poor reviews- but to each his own. I personally LOVED the series...
What other book might you compare Zombie Fallout to and why?
Not a book, but movies... Perfectly captures the feel of zombieland.. and the kind of sarcastic/snarky wit that many a modern zombie fan loves.
Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favorite?
Id have to say the lead character... Talbot.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
DEFINITELY made me laugh at times.... and also kept me on the edge of my seat at times.
Any additional comments?
Seriously my fave zombie series.... Up there with "Patient Zero" and "Dead of night" by mayberry and "Cell" by King- my former faves.
