I'm shocked that others are giving this book less than 5 stars. This book is written as an "in your face" manner that gets you out of your marketing mediocrity (if you're marketing at all) and into an aggressive attitude that will empower you to take more risks and stand out in the crowd.

The narrator does a great job of conveying this attitude which may not be agreeable to the sensitive or easy offended listener. But if that's you, then you're probably not marketing anyways.

I listened to this book several times, then bought 5 physical copies to go through with some of my clients. The book offers great advise and even provides some of Mark Steven's real world marketing plans (which is why I bought the physical copies).

This book was incredibly in-depth. I had no idea what I was getting into and remember thinking "how can this book be over 15 hours long?" After listening to the book I realize how many dynamics are involved when in a survival situation. Many of which I've never considered.

Hawke does a great job of going over as many scenarios as possible with clear communication on what to do and how to prioritize tasks to liven your spirits and manage caloric intake. He covers pretty much every food scenario and even discusses uncommon topics such as whether or not to eat the deceased.

The narrator is tough to listen too at first and the book is quite long. A little too over the top with the "hardened soldier" tone, but you get used to it after awhile to the point that I stopped noticing.

If I could list five "must-reads" before you died, "How to Win Friends & Influence People" would be towards the top of the list. A timeless list of great insights in how to treat others well, get what you want and create lasting relationships. Book gets a little lengthy feeling with multiple examples to illustrate the same point but the stories are entertaining in themselves. Wasn't crazy about the narrator's voice and reading style as it seemed to date the book a little bit. All in all, I was very happy with this book and now recommend it regularly.
