Historia
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

Historia
When middle schooler Jimmy Dunn walked into Marion Jackson's house, selling candy bars for a school fundraiser, he had no idea he was stumbling into an adventure that would change his life, and lead him to make the best friends of his life. When Ian Riordan overheard Jimmy bragging about seeing two naked women when he was selling candy bars, he immediately thought he needed to tell his mom. She'd want to get to know these women. In modern middle America, people don't know their neighbors. Jimmy and Ian didn't know their neighbors were naturists. Will they join them? What would the pastor ...

I don’t know for me just seem to jump around quite a bit not in the beginning but more near the end of it was just crushed or a little bit sporadic love the topic and honestly overall not a bad story

Historia
The received idea of Native American history - as promulgated by books like Dee Brown's mega-bestselling 1970 Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee - has been that American Indian history essentially ended with the 1890 massacre at Wounded Knee. Not only did 150 Sioux die at the hands of the US Cavalry, the sense was, but Native civilization did as well. Growing up Ojibwe on a reservation in Minnesota, training as an anthropologist, and researching Native life past and present for his nonfiction and novels, David Treuer has uncovered a different narrative.

Could be better
Revisado: 03-14-20
I think the title is a little misleading this book is a series of short stories mixed in with history. I will say though once you get over the title the book, it is enjoyable but could have used a better narrator.

Thank you

this was a insightful book. My family is memberd of the Oglala tribe for which I have only have a basic knowledge as I grew up on the east coast. With my mother's passing I have been called upon to reflect on myself, my family, and our ancestors. I feel gifted that you would take your time to create and share the stories and knowledge of the ancestors.
