Of course it was just as stellar as the last two books, incredible close to an amazing series
Revisado: 11-10-24
Absolutely adored this series, it gave me whiplash, made me cry both sad and happy tears, had me angry, and absolutely devoted to these characters. Even some of the side characters had me caring about them throughout this series which is not typical for me. The progression is perfect, the pacing is just chef's kiss. I cannot recommend this series enough and the ending is so worth the absolutely spectacular rollercoaster you go through to get there, I promise.

The last two hours are insane but the entirety keeps you captivated as well.
Revisado: 10-25-24
Admittedly in the last book, I saw most of the plot twists coming, but this one took me by surprise. Don't get me wrong, both books have been amazing, and I absolutely enjoyed this one even more than the first. The entirety of this book has an amazing build up just as the first and builds off the first book perfectly. The tension feels so genuine and worthwhile. The pay off is beautiful and sets up for the third book beautifully. I literally could not put either of the two books down and I am so excited to read the third. As expected, the vocal performance was perfect just as the first book, the emotions are conveyed in a way that makes you feel like you are there. I cannot recommend this series enough if you like to suffer through slow burns and dark subjects. This book dug tears out of me and I even had to pause it for a day cause it ripped my heart out.

Historia
Damen is a warrior hero to his people and the rightful heir to the throne of Akielos, but when his half brother seizes power, Damen is captured, stripped of his identity, and sent to serve the prince of an enemy nation as a pleasure slave. Beautiful, manipulative and deadly, his new master, Prince Laurent, epitomizes the worst of the court at Vere. But in the lethal political web of the Veretian court, nothing is as it seems, and when Damen finds himself caught up in a play for the throne, he must work together with Laurent.

Revisado: 10-18-24
Holy cow. This book is dark. Very interesting. The story is presented in a way to keep you thinking the entire way through, the world building is intriguing and I finished this first book so fast because I could not put it down. It's been awhile since I've been so captivated by a story. Absolutely recommend if you want a SLOW burn. Wanna make yourself suffer? This is perfect, and I say that in the best way possible. I already bought the second book and am about to start it right after this review. Voice actor for the story is awesome too btw!!

Awesome world building, fluid narrative throughout each book regarding plot, subpar romance, boring spicy scenes
Revisado: 10-16-24
As I titled my review, the world building is excellent, very interesting and kept me listening. The voice acting is peak, super great, absolutely loved it through every book in the series, they do great at conveying the emotions of the scenes for sure.
I will say, I came to this series for romance and spicy scenes, these books did not deliver in those two aspects from my perspective. I will say, for romance, I enjoyed the first and last books the most, they felt the most interesting when it comes to the chemistry between the characters. Noah's story and Alister's were sadly disappointing, both of their books felt like their romance was taking a back seat in comparison to the main plot. It also became lecturing (towards the listener) at times, like yes, it is important to mention how important consent is, of course, but it became too much and takes you out of the immersion with just how much the author mentions it in the vampire book.
Fortunately, the main plot is very interesting! It kept me to the very end and I feel it was worth the listen! Still, if you want romance to be the key point and if spicy scenes are important to keep your attention, I would not recommend since the chemistry was just not there most the time and the spicy stuff was kept to a minimum and unmemorable for the most part.
Put simply, I'd recommend if you're interested in stories with good world building, great narration, interesting characters and some fun plot twists.

Amazing performance for a super interesting set of stories
Revisado: 08-02-24
Right away, the Phoenix and his prince was hands down my favorite, I'm a sucker for their dynamic and book 1 sets up the second book so well. The voices fit the characters so well and really capture what is going on in the moment and the exasperation at times. All the books are great for monster-f#####s, lol! Great xxx scenes, super cute build ups to romance in each and I felt every book was rewarding to listen to for the outcomes. Would love to see more for this series one day.

Kyran Harbor is everything I'm not. Rich. Popular. A superstar football player who's awfully broody for someone who has it all. Basically, he's a preppy jock who hates me. Oh, and he's also my stepbrother. That's right. We're stuck together, sharing a school, a house, a bathroom. Honestly I wouldn't care if he wasn't such an uptight control freak who messes with me just because we're different. I had every intention of avoiding him when we got to college. Until abrupt misfortune forces us both into a compromising position.

Incredibly well written and interesting
Revisado: 03-26-24
The book starts digging it's hooks in you easily if you are a lover of enemies to lovers but trust me, it is SO much more. You may be reading for the adult fun moments but it will crush your soul in the best of ways. This is one of the longer books I've listened to and it did an incredible job at keeping my ADHD-riddled brain hooked. I tend to like to just listen on my drives but this one kept me locked in at times, listening longer than I usually would for most audiobooks, you just want to know what happens!
Great adult sexy scenes, they are very well written and fun. The banter is a blast to listen to and I love making myself suffer through angst which was so worth it.
Definitely going on my list of favorite books.
I must add, the voice acting is lovely, the voices really fit the characters and add to the experience.
I am now going to listen to another of this author's superb writing because this was my first book by them but will definitely not be my last, I am subscribed and locked in, it's so worth it to have your heart ripped out and stitched back in, thank you for this beautiful book.

Historia
Captain Sabine Fleischer is a skilled and dedicated US Army surgeon deployed to a combat hospital in Afghanistan. She is also one of the thousands of troops who are forced to serve in silence because of the military's anti-gay policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT)". Usually driven and focused, Sabine finds that battles raging both inside and outside are making it more and more difficult for her to deal with her emotions. Dealing with loss and mortality, lack of privacy, sleep deprivation, loneliness, and the isolation forced on her by Don't Ask, Don't Tell are all taking their toll.

Revisado: 11-17-23
I am always a sucker for forbidden romances but this one was a bit extra sad due to the truth behind it. it was well written and a good read. I enjoyed the twists and even the sadness along with happiness it brought. It could be a bit slow at times but overall all the characters were very enjoyable and I just love sarcastic humor. Absolutely worth a read!

One of my favorite titles!
Revisado: 10-08-23
First of all, Kirt and John give one of the most charming performances I've listened to. They capture the cast wonderfully in their acting.
The story is captivating (I finished the title in a week vs I am usually able to restrain myself to make my audiobooks last a month during car rides. I wasn't able to resist with this one). The opposite personalities twist together so well and the slow burn was mesmerizing.
I HIGHLY recommend this title to anyone who wants to read a romance with interesting twists, a fun cast of characters and the two of the most enjoyable voice actors I have heard! I am definitely giving the next title in the series a try. Thank you Tavia for this awesome book, I'm excited to read more!

It gets good at Chapter 29
Revisado: 10-06-23
Honestly, this book was a bit of a nuisance to get through, but when it got good, it was okay. Not the best romance I've read but it is interesting atleast once you hit chapter 29. The first 28 chapters there is no romance and it barely even mentions the love-interest until chapter 29, and the first 28 chapters just feel like filler-episodes which is why I rate it so low. I do enjoy the romance that develops but it feels like it could have used the previous chapters to flesh it out more and some of the plot points (I will not mention due to spoilers), could've also used some work.
Euan Morton, the narrator was magnificent though with their delivery!

A toxic romance that keeps you wanting more
Revisado: 10-06-23
I want to start off by saying, if you want something purely wholesome, this book will not be for you, but if you are willing to recognize that these two really aren't the best human beings and their relationship is undeniably toxic, then grab some popcorn and dive in.
I found the story super interesting, it kept me intrigued and I just adore when stories jump back and forth between the two's point-of-views. Especially when they differ so much. I could see myself siding with both of them and understanding where each was coming from, but also was so frustrated (in a good way) by how thick headed they can be. A great enemies-to-lovers read if you're okay with some heart-breaking, soul-shattering stuff mixed in.
