Narration could use some updates.
Revisado: 09-14-22
Narration sounds grainy and character voices came off as cringy. Decent story, but time has graded this novel.

Exodus is an international publishing phenomenon - the towering novel of the 20th century's most dramatic geopolitical event. Leon Uris magnificently portrays the birth of a new nation in the midst of enemies - the beginning of an earthshaking struggle for power. Here is the tale that swept the world with its fury: the story of an American nurse, an Israeli freedom fighter caught up in a glorious, heartbreaking, triumphant era. Here is Exodus - one of the great best-selling novels of all time.

Historia
According to the establishment media, the intelligentsia, and our political chattering class, the greatest threat to American freedom lies in right-wing authoritarianism. We’ve heard that some 75 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump represent the rise of American fascism; that conservatives have allowed authoritarianism to bloom in their midst, creating a grave danger for the republic.

Again the story delivered is second to none in overall entertainment and history. I don't usually read books in a series because the feel of predictability ruins the book, but Peters delivers again. The characters and emotion of Grant, Lee, Sheridan and Early make for a compelling story. None are too over the top and the way the overall progression of events makes it easy to follow. Another great book. Highly recommend.

Commemorating the approaching 150th anniversary of this grim encounter between valiant Americans, Ralph Peters brings to bear the lessons of his own military career, his lifelong study of this war and the men who fought it, and his skills as a best-selling, prize-winning novelist to portray horrific battles and sublime heroism as no other author has done.

Overland campaign or the Wilderness campaign.
Revisado: 08-31-19
I must confess to my inability to completely follow every step as I have read it from history books. One huge downside was the ending. I realize there is another book to follow, but a little closure couldn't hurt. Pace felt rushed but details were intimate. Characters were real with emotional purpose. I felt more detached from these characters than from his previous novel. Still a good read.

Historia
Two mighty armies blunder toward each other, one led by confident, beloved Robert E. Lee and the other by dour George Meade. They’ll meet in a Pennsylvania crossroads town where no one planned to fight. In this sweeping, savagely realistic novel, the greatest battle ever fought on American soil explodes into life at Gettysburg. As generals squabble, staffs err. Tragedy unfolds for immigrants in blue and barefoot Rebels alike. The fate of the nation will be decided in a few square miles of fields. There are no marble statues here, only men of flesh and blood, imperfect and courageous.

Excellent/gritty portrayal of the battle of Gettysburg. Makes you feel as though you were there. No over the top thrills, just a candid account from the rank and file soldier on both sides, to the generals on both sides. Captures the raw emotion and atmosphere of what one thinks about war. No political agenda and no bias. Great read. Highly recommended.

Best comprehensive book on one of history's most unsung and influential characters. Well written and organized. I bought the book after only two chapters of listening. Fully equipped with footnotes and illustrations that adds a great dimension. Narrated by the author himself. Easy to listen to and learn from. I would highly recommend this audible addition, however I also feel the book itself is a must purchase.

The novel opens in present-day Paris in a crowded café, where David meets Pandora. She is two thousand years old, a Child of the Millennia, the first vampire ever made by the great Marius. Good story but short
Revisado: 08-18-17
The story didn't add to the overall vampire mythology as I had hoped. It was shorter than most of her previous vampire books. I liked the setting and the attempt to tie history together in the end.
