Historia
The Earl of Wrexford possesses a brilliant scientific mind, but boredom and pride lead him to reckless behavior. He does not suffer fools gladly. So when pompous, pious Reverend Josiah Holworthy publicly condemns him for debauchery, Wrexford unsheathes his rapier-sharp wit and strikes back. As their war of words escalates, London's most popular satirical cartoonist, A. J. Quill, skewers them both.

Great Storyteller!
Revisado: 05-28-24
This is a great series! The level of craftsmanship shown by the author in the world they have created is very immersive and the mystery is far from predictable. I am already on the third book.

Historia
A 25 day Advent devotional for rest, worship, and reflection. Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year and sometimes we just need permission to rest and remember what the season is all about. With this fresh perspective of classic hymns, familiar Bible passages, and the story of Christmas, you'll have an opportunity to do exactly that. Each day will begin with a reflection on a familiar Christmas carol or hymn as we discover the untold story and study the Scriptural inspiration for each beloved song.

Very Poor Narration
Revisado: 12-03-22
I bought the Audible version of this book because I was pleased to have the song for each day and the Scripture versions included in the devotional.
Unfortunately- the narration is over enunciated to the point of distraction, There is also an issue with abrupt section breaks. The song ends and suddenly the narrator breaks in with DEVOTIONAL. This happens with the other section breaks for Scripture and Discussion Questions.
Is it good teaching? I am not sure. The poor narration has distracted my family from the content.
We will be switching to the Kindle version.

I can’t finish it.
Revisado: 11-13-22
Sadly, I will be returning this one. I had high hopes for a new series to enjoy, Book Two of the Veronica Speedwell series will be my last.
I am just not interested in the sexual proclivities of the idle rich in Victorian England. If felt forced and out of sync with the whole lady/scientist/detective thread.

Historia
January 1910. A journalist has been killed in a suspicious blaze. Everything points to a group of suffragettes, but the apparent culprit insists she is innocent. When Lady Hardcastle receives a letter from a suffragette requesting her urgent help, the retired spy turned sleuth knows only she stands between an accused young woman and the gallows. Evidence at the scene makes Lizzie Worrel’s innocence difficult to believe, and with the police treating it as an open-and-shut case of arson, Lady Hardcastle faces a barrage of resistance as she tries to dig out the truth.
