I appreciated and deeply admire the author - narrator’s Courage and determination in his search to become a person who lives a life of love and justice, despite having been born into a situation that had very little of either.

Two unpleasant people who deserve each other

The author seems not to have liked either of the protagonists, who are both extremely forceful individuals without much self understanding, . There is one non-aristocratic character, who had some charm and was well performed
