Historia
1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. These deaths could be accidents, and they don’t appear to be connected—until a fatal fall from a high-floor window attracts some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Fairly predictable. But entertaining. I’ve liked Jack Reacher before. I’ll keep reading the books. A a a a a.

I wasn’t sold on the exchange because my so simple. That was a let down. You don’t just wire the money and believe they will release the hostage after they have received what they wanted.

Great series, nice confederate perspective
Revisado: 01-26-23
I would recommend this series to those who enjoy historical fiction. Do not expect this read to be true to the real history but it can provide a probable perspective. Catch Jeff Shaarh history especially the Las Full Measure.

The Southern setbacks of July 1863 have fallen hard on the Brannons, for two sons were with Lee in Pennsylvania and one was at Vicksburg. They still mourn the loss of another, Titus, presumed dead but actually interned in a Northern prison camp for seven months.

I’ve been listening to the entire series in order
Revisado: 01-18-23
This is probably the weakest book in the series. I often had to stop, look at maps and pictures to try and figure out where and what was happening. Maybe my brain is slow. Overall I am enjoying the series, especially from the confederate point of view.

Historia
Francis Parkman's journal - written more than 150 years ago, in 1846 - provides an eye-witness account of one of the grandest adventures in American history. At age 23, the Harvard-educated Bostonian traveled the Rocky Mountains, living among the Dakota Sioux. In his journal, he captured the color, spirit, and perspective of his era, as well as the exuberant confidence that was the mark of his time. Frank Muller's dramatic reading brings this captivating record to life.

Very interesting writing for it’s time. Several old falsehoods of the time carried forward that are not correct. Having studied and traveled the trail for over 30 years it does portray the basic history.

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

Here, in his own powerfully moving words, Rhodes reveals why he was willing to die to preserve his beloved Union.

Revisado: 10-13-21
I read and listen to a lot of Civil War histories. This is one of my favorites. I now know what several of my ancestors actually went through. My great grandfather was wounded in March of 1865 in the same battles described in the book.

Historia
General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

Very Well Written, Very Biased Toward Patton
Revisado: 12-28-15
Bill O'Reilly is a great writer but not a great reader. To me it is very disturbing that Eisenhower and Patton had very different perspectives for handling the Russians. Did others stand with Patton (Churchill) or was he just a lone wolf? I'm not sure the book really uncovered why FDR, Eisenhower, and others were so naive in dealing with Stalin. The debate continues. The death of Patton is a bloody stain on the U.S. and the allied forces.
