Historia
In a sea of college freshmen, Elizabeth Bennet feels more like a den mother than a returning student. She’d rather be playing Exploding Kittens than dodge-the-gropers at a frat party, but no way was she letting her innocent, doe-eyed roommate go alone. Everything about Meryton College screams old money - something she and Jane definitely are not - but Elizabeth resolves to enjoy herself.

Unique (and steamy) Angle On a Classic
Revisado: 04-03-20
Unique, modern take on a classic story. The pacing was good, writing skillful, and narration was excellent.
However, there were a lot of sex scenes throughout, so be prepared. If you don't like having steamy scenes read to you, this is not the book for you!

Great Female Narrator, Good Listen
Revisado: 03-13-20
Overall, I enjoyed this book. The pacing and story held my interest, especially in the beginning. However, the story did shift from the type of narrative as I was expecting about halfway through. There was magic, decent world building, and healing-themed elements. I was impressed with Joan Coombs' narration -- my favorite female narrator so far! She had great pacing, calming voice, and had enough diversity for the characters. I would definitely listen to books narrated by her again!

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Inspiring Listen - Great Story
Revisado: 02-13-20
This one has been sitting in my library for over a year and I finally gave it a go. I absolutely loved it. An impossible journey through the Antarctic Sea with limited technology with an inspirational crew and leadership written in the 1950s. The narration by Simon Prebble was on point. He did a great job bringing the story to life. I would definitely listen to this again.

A Classic for a Reason!
Revisado: 01-28-20
This is the first Amazon Classic I've been able to push through on audiobook. Sandra Burr did a decent job with the narration. The stories of the 4 sisters and the March family present and excellent timepiece for the era, accompanied by skillful and interesting writing.

Just Okay - Lacks Originality
Revisado: 07-23-19
This book was easy to listen to, as most LitRPGs are. It overall made the commute back and forth to work a little easier. What I struggled with was the lack of originality. The story, setting, characters, and LitRPG elements felt like a re-creation of other popular LitRPGs without a unique or creative touch and I found it predictable and dull.
Justin Thomas James did a decent job with the narration. I did not care for Laurie Winkel's narration; it sounded kind of robotic.

Unique, Suspenseful Read
Revisado: 02-12-19
Definitely enjoyed the book, and the skillful narration made it particularly suspenseful. It roped me in immediately! The story was unique with decent character development. A sprinkling of magic with just enough fantasy elements. My only complaint is that the main character did seem to be over-questioning at times dragging the flow of the story a little bit. Overall a decent set-up for a series, lots of options to where the story can go!

Historia
Somewhere out there, in the great expanse of space and time, exist the Fabled Islands. Nobody knows how or why they exist, only that it is a strange and special place that operates under laws separate from the universe. The Fabled Islands are made up of vast floating continents. They vary in size, with some ranging from the surface area of a small planet to a star. If you look at them from afar, you would find that they are placed in a line. Each island is separated by a vast amount of space, so there is only one way to travel from one island to the next.

Not for me
Revisado: 01-31-19
Admittedly, this was a unique take on litRPGs with the cards dynamic -- seemed pokemon-esque with the 'gotta catch 'em all' premise. However, the book fell short in establishing the context of the story from the beginning and world building. Are these players in a video game? Do they just live in a litRPG setting? Ultimately, I couldn't really get into the story and this book was just not for me.
The narration/performance was solid, no critiques or complaints. The pacing was good, and the voices provided the characters with some personality.

Historia
Corbin is an adventurer; he just hasn’t realized it. He was born in the wrong age - an era where the world has already grown tame. With the advent of fully immersive virtual reality, however, that’s all going to change. A revolutionary new game - Chronicle - makes much bolder claims than the competition. It offers a perfect simulation in a new world with quests, magic, monsters, and gods - but Chronicle’s biggest draw is something irresistible: While players are logged in, they have extra time to live.

Solid LitRPG
Revisado: 01-22-19
If you're into LitRPGs you'll definitely enjoy this book. Good character development, and I liked the premise of the passage of time in the game vs. in real life. Awesome narration as usual by Nick Podehl (who also did The Land series). Looking forward to the next one!
