Mike Daley and ex-wife Rosie Fernandez face new challenges and stare down old demons as they return to work at the San Francisco Public Defender's Office where they had started their careers and their relationship 20 years earlier. Mike and Rosie are now the co-heads of the Felony Division, where they spend more time running the office and supervising younger attorneys than trying cases. That changes quickly when Mike is visited by Melinda Nguyen, whose son, Thomas, is about to go on trial for murder.

Historia
Emery Hazard and his boyfriend, John-Henry Somerset, just want to enjoy the day at the Dore County Independence Fair. At the shooting gallery, though, Hazard comes face to face with one of his old bullies: Mikey Grames. Even as a drugged-out wreck, Mikey is a reminder of all the ugliness in Hazard’s past. And Mikey seems to know something Hazard doesn’t - something about the fresh tension brewing in town. When the Chief of Police interrupts Hazard’s day at the fair, she has a strange request. She doesn’t want Hazard and Somers to solve a murder. She wants them to prevent one.

Enjoying the series
Revisado: 06-05-21
Enjoyed the series but was disappointed in the characters’ actions in the final big drawn out scene. The characters are too smart to have made the crucial mistakes. The guns or rifles got away from their hands too many times. Mikey became like a super hero while Somers and Hazard weakened. Still a good read.

Historia
A resident of one of LA's toughest neighborhoods uses his blistering intellect to solve the crimes the LAPD ignores. East Long Beach. The LAPD is barely keeping up with the neighborhood's high crime rate. Murders go unsolved, lost children unrecovered. But someone from the neighborhood has taken it upon himself to help solve the cases the police can't or won't touch. They call him IQ. He's a loner and a high school dropout, his unassuming nature disguising a relentless determination and a fierce intelligence.

Great Story - Fantastic Naration
Revisado: 11-30-17
What made the experience of listening to IQ the most enjoyable?
The amazing job Mr. Jones does in making the characters come alive.
What did you like best about this story?
I didn't know what to expect. It's not the king of story line I typically choose. It strongly held my interest. Mr. Ide is a very gifted writer, with priceless similes and metaphors.
What about Sullivan Jones’s performance did you like?
Mr. Jones gives great realism to the characters. I kept seeing a young Eddie Murphy in Dodson.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I needed a break from time to time but was always eager to get back to it, I listen while driving to and from work.
Any additional comments?
I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Great plot but leaked Mr. Parker’s style.
Revisado: 10-07-17
I enjoyed the story, but I couldn’t envision Jesse Stone. He was too chatty. I think the estate should make sure the writers adhere to the style that Robert B. Parker established for the Jesse Stone novels.

Historia
Rafe is a normal teenager from Colorado. He's been out since 8th grade, accepted by his peers & championed by his progressive parents. And while that's important, all Rafe really wants is to be a regular guy. To have his sexuality be a part of who he is, but not the headline, every single time. So when Rafe transfers to an all-boys' boarding school in New England, he decides to keep his sexuality a secret - not so much going back in the closet as starting over with a clean slate.

Revisado: 09-25-17
What did you love best about Openly Straight?
Mr. Konigsberg has a great style that make an audio book really easy to listen to. The story grabbed me right away to see if Rafe's experiment would work.
What other book might you compare Openly Straight to and why?
I love Haley Walsh's books. But really hard to make any kind of comparison.
Have you listened to any of Pete Cross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The is the first I've heard from Peter Cross. I found it well paced and he did a great job with voices for each of the characters.
Any additional comments?
I had hoped for a happier ending for Rafe and Ben. It kind of wrapped up quickly. I hope Mr. Konigsberg's next one take me where i'd like it to go. I'm hooked, though..

Historia
Raymond has to get his act together and find a place of his own. But when out-and-proud David Butler offers to be his roommate, Raymond agrees for reasons other than needing a place to crash. David is Raymond's opposite in almost every way - he's Connecticut prim and proper while Raymond is a sarcastic longshoreman from Queens - but their friendship is solid. Their closeness surprises everyone as does their not-so-playful flirtation, since Raymond has always kept his bi-curious side a secret.

Revisado: 10-12-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, good story line.
What other book might you compare Sunset Park to and why?
I enjoy Rhys Ford's Sinner Gin Series.
Did Michael Ferraiuolo do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
He was slow ro start, and I had just listened to Sutphin Boulevard, and really like the narration by Rusty Topsfield. Ray's voice is completely different. I had to wonder why the change in narrators. Once he got going the voices of the characters got better.

It's moving day at Chez Holmes. Somehow, against Kit's better instincts, he and J.X. are setting up house together. But while J.X. is off at a writing conference, Kit unpacks a crate that should contain either old books or new china. It doesn't. Within the mounds of Styrofoam popcorn is a dead body. A very dead body. There goes the neighborhood.

I read all three books waiting for something to happen but it didn't. Mr. Holmes is just not very likable which is probably why he has no friends. But I'm all for a spinoff with JX, who has personality and character.

A really enjoyable and entertaining book
Revisado: 07-08-15
Would you listen to Foxe Tail again? Why?
Slow to start, the story and characters really get interesting. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Skylar's character can really be annoying at times, but you come to realize that the characters are a lot like your own friends, who CAN be annoying at times, but are there for you when you need them.
Which character – as performed by Joel Leslie – was your favorite?
Joel Leslie is great at giving the characters their own space, a great story teller.
Any additional comments?
It's just a fun book, well constructed, and one that keeps you wanting to want to find out what happens next.
