He narrates very well- and there are tips that are useful- however it seems like someone for whom things comes easy explains why it’s hard. Also- he coaches - and breathe

Historia
His memory is blank. He only knows that he was flushed out of the Mediterranean Sea, his body riddled with bullets. There are a few clues. A frame of microfilm surgically implanted beneath the flesh of his hip. Evidence that plastic surgery has altered his face. Strange things that he says in his delirium -- maybe code words. Initials: "J.B." And a number on the film negative that leads to a Swiss bank account, a fortune of four million dollars, and, at last, a name: Jason Bourne.

Revisado: 02-19-15
Had I read the book I would have very upset with the movie. It barely followed the same outline. It felt like "an actual telling of real events" which never is. Worth the read however.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

I enjoyed this story and having 2 narrators helped. Overall it was kind of a sad book. A look back at life, tragedy, happiness, good times, and dark secrets.

I read cloud atlas and loved it, so I thought I would try this one. Completely different type of story, but great reading. You follow several characters who make the best of what they have and try to change what they cannot accept. (I guess it is similar to cloud atlas in that way) this book made me smile, frown, gasp, and cheer! ( out loud I might add, I got weird looks as I listen with headphones )

I bought this book to listen to on my flights to Alaska. I didn't get the chance to do so. I finally listened to this book a few months after we came home. I am amazed by people who are willing to give it all up, travel, and pursue a dream. It made me very sad to see his dream slide from his fingers when he was so close to completing it!

Historia
> The Chaperone is a captivating novel about the woman who chaperoned an irreverent Louise Brooks to New York City in 1922, and the summer that would change them both. Only a few years before becoming a famous actress and an icon for her generation, a 15-year-old Louise Brooks leaves Wichita to make it big in New York. Much to her annoyance, she is accompanied by a thirty-six-year-old chaperone who is neither mother nor friend. Cora Carlisle is a complicated but traditional woman with her own reasons for making the trip.

Interesting look at two women in and time and place where they should not have done what they wanted, what made them happy. Still following them thru triumph and heartache was interesting. I'd call this a good beach read.

Historia
The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway's most enduring works. Told in language of great simplicity and power, it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman, down on his luck, and his supreme ordeal, a relentless, agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream. Here Hemingway recasts, in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of defeat, of personal triumph won from loss.

Sometimes we struggle, and it seems all for nothing, as in this story. Sometimes we want to give up. This was a beautiful tale of struggle, persistence , failure and success.

Historia
Oscar Wilde’s classic story of a young man who sells his soul in exchange for eternal beauty and youth continues to thrill generations of readers. Written by a man who was every bit as flamboyant and unconventional as its hero, The Picture of Dorian Gray is as haunting today as when it first shocked the British public in 1891. Dorian Gray, young, intelligent, sophisticated, gazes on his freshly painted portrait.

I thought I knew the story of Dorian Grey, I did not. I found that I was as transfixed with him and his story as much as the characters in the book were. Great classic story, this has made me go back and read (sometimes re-read) the classics!

Historia
First published in 1865, these endearing tales of an imaginative child's dream world by Lewis Carroll, pen name for Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, are written with charming simplicity. While delighting children with a heroine who represents their own thoughts and feelings about growing up, the tale is appreciated by adults as a gentle satire on education, politics, literature, and Victorian life in general.

What did you love best about Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass?
It was nice to put the story in order. I have seen many versions of this book in movie form, but like so many , the movies twist things all up. It was great to read both these stories one after the other. Still the mind twisting , acid trip world you know, with some characters and details you may not.

Being given yet another pointless 'man manual' that told him 50 ways to tie a bow tie in under 30 seconds made James May certain there was a need for another kind of book. This book, in fact. He reckons there are nine vital things that a chap should be able to do.

Absolutely Ridiculous and Worth a Read!
Revisado: 06-02-13
Where does How to Land an A330 Airbus rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's one of my favorite books! Being a fan of "Top Gear" on BBC, I was amused to see that 'Captain Slow' had written a mans guide to things they need to know. If you have ever watched the show you know that cars are often described as completely pointless but you must buy one and here's why. That's is book!! Very amusing , completely useless, and absolutely fabulous!
