Typical Dean Koonz
Revisado: 09-22-23
This is not one of his better books. I'm sure the story could have been told in half the time, but typical of Koonz books it's filled with lectures about technology taking over the world and tangents.

Historia
I knew hot flashes were supposed to be hot, but I didn't expect flames. One day I'm in anger management, normalizing the cordial hate between me and my husband. The next, we're divorced, and he has taken both our house and the business we built together. I'm 40 years old and living above our empty restaurant, plotting my next move. And then the world around starts lighting up - literally catching on fire. I'm starting to think my defining characteristic may not be my snark or my cupcake-baking prowess, but spontaneous combustion.

It didn't keep my attention
Revisado: 08-20-22
This sounds like it could be a cute story but it just did not keep my attention. My mind was wandering so much I don't even know what the story is about. I'm going to get my credit back on this one.

Historia
It's 1949. When war veteran Aloysius Archer is released from Carderock Prison, he is sent to Poca City on parole with a short list of dos and a much longer list of don'ts: do report regularly to his parole officer, don't go to bars, certainly don't drink alcohol, do get a job - and don't ever associate with loose women. The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

Not David Baldacci's best
Revisado: 07-25-19
This was a good book, just not amazing like his other books are. Usually David Baldacci's books are full of plot twits and conspiracy theories and are very fast paced and excited. This one wasn't and it kind of dragged.

Historia
He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska. A sexy, cocky Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive. When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually tense nights in hotels, and taking unplanned detours. My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

The worst nariation ever.
Revisado: 01-08-19
I couldn't even finish this book the nariation was so bad. The sad thing is, is that this book actually started out really well. Then in part two a different nariator took over and it was awful. His reading of the story totally changed the entire feel of the characters. It's amazing how bad story telling can ruin a book.

Not even close to as good as her other books.
Revisado: 11-15-18
I was so excited for this book to come out, because all of Liane Moriarty's books have been so great, but this one was disappointing. This book was hard to get into and stay interested in. It didn't really seems to have a story line. I listened to the book and six hours into listening nothing really had happened yet. Nothing really exciting happend through the whole book, unlike her past books. I really hope the next book she publishes is better.

Revisado: 07-06-17
This book started out good then quickly went down hill. The story skipped around and just did not flow well. I couldn't wait to be finished with this book. I won't be reading anything else by this author because her writing is just not that good.

Historia
In A Scattered Life, Karen McQuestion proves to be an adept chronicler of unforgettable female characters. Poignantly written, she thoughtfully examines how women love, learn, and come to accept themselves and others, as well as life’s often harsh realities of deception and loss. Skyla Plinka has all she could ask for - at least that’s what her mother-in-law Audrey thinks. On most days, Skyla agrees, yet there’s a part of her that longs for her free-spirited days before husband, child, and the humdrum life of rural Wisconsin.

it was a good book sad ending. I think the thing that ruined the book was the narration. she sounded like a robot at times so it made the characters hard to relate to.

Very long, confusing book.
Revisado: 04-15-16
If I had not been listening to the audio version of this book I would not have been able to finish it. It took a long time to get to the point of anything in this story, and there was skipping back and forth between time frames so it was confusing at times. I don't think I'll read this author again because I really did not like this book.
