Historia
WESTCOAST CHRONICLES In the third of the 'Westcoast Series, we explore the exciting events and history of Victoria and British Columbia's west coast through the last half of the 1800's. To tell this tale, we follow the life of 'Vickie, the precocious daughter of Maggie and Mark Holland, who we met in the first volume, Westcoast Legacy. A life filled with change and challenges, during periods of growth that included epidemics, gold rushes, race-riots, opium, gambling and whore houses.

Excellent Historical Trilogy - Beautifully Told!
Revisado: 03-03-24
I've listened to all three of the Historically fact driven Stories written by Ian Kent in this 3 book series and marvel at the time and research it must have taken in the creation of these books, stories well-woven and genuinely connected with full family lives and living! Congratulations on this endeavor!
I thoroughly enjoyed each and every book as I have always liked reading of/thinking about our ancestor's travels and arrivals to a new land, and trying to understand the unfathomable challenges they lived, in dealing with the new world of this country.... Except for the Indigenous Souls of this land, We All came from somewhere else, and I applaud and appreciate the author's asides, in speaking to the audience, in reminding us all how incredibly courageous it was for the characters he was writing about to embark on such daily unknowns .... and how Lucky we are!
Beautifully narrated by a dear friend, Monica M. Wemitt is a incredible actress with the voice of an Angel, And her reading with the characters' personifications is a work of art here, too ...many nations and cultures are woven in this slice of life history in the telling. And her reading of so very many characters is easy and happy and joyful to hear. I highly recommend this book, and the two books that led up to this one, too! Thank you for creating this series!

Story line with great twists & plots
Revisado: 09-11-23
Excellently acted & told, this story is filled with the drama and grief of human emotions… and characters with dimensions to be discovered along the way. As in life, nothing is ever easily understood when it includes abuse, class hierarchies, Love & envy & fear.

Historia
It was summer in the mountains when five small children vanished from their nursery school picnic. The heat was stifling that day, the tinkle of an ice-cream van in the air.... Three-and-a-half years later, in the dead of winter, the children are returned to their families...one by one. All except for Ivy - the granddaughter of Homicide Detective Kate Wakeland. The other four children say Ivy is dead.

Big Slices of Life, Read by a Superb Storyteller!
Revisado: 01-27-23
My favorite storyteller, Monica Wemitt, is reading this story by Marla K. Morris. And I highly recommend you listen to her, too! The book is a Web of Life Stories told over interconnecting Lifetimes... the good, the bad and the not so good... as we all know or might have witnessed in families and our own lives.
Sometimes the story moves through the years quickly, in evolving treachery and long hidden deceits, but I found that Monica's reading and perfectly defined characters, so beautifully acted with her voice (which I Love listening to), always kept it very clear to me about what was happening! Superb Storytelling! I'll be on the lookout for her readings here on Audible!!!

Historia
Narrated by Liz Miller, a penniless PhD candidate desperate to finish her dissertation, the novel begins when Liz's boyfriend abruptly ditches her, rendering Liz homeless and reduced to couch-surfing at best friend Petra's tiny Manhattan studio apartment. Trying to find an affordable living space, she stumbles across a Craigslist posting that will change her life: a room with a view in a prewar Greenwich Village apartment. The rent is a pittance, but in exchange, the tenant must be willing to read aloud daily to the apartment's sight-impaired landlady.

Wonderful Storytelling!
Revisado: 08-12-22
I truly enjoyed this book! It’s filled with scheming, surprising emotions and the characters purposeful plotting. And some described tiny life moments made me smile and sigh. Sometimes from recognition and sometimes disdain. The storyteller, Monica Wemitt, has a wonderful way of becoming each character … what a beautiful & unique voice she gives to each! A wonderful listening & storytelling blend.
