Loved the fast paced writing style!
Revisado: 07-10-22
Don't listen to the bad reviews. This story is for people who don't get easily offended and do not have delicate sensibilities about things like prostitution, crime and language. If you're interested in a fun fast paced book with thrills, suspense, whodunits, and tongue in cheek humor then this is for you. Nice character development- you actually care about the characters. This book is by no means slow or does it rely on one drawn out story. The narration is fantastic.

Historia
Ginger Mitchell accomplished the impossible; the former call girl and now sort-of private investigator got into all of this to bring her mother’s killer to justice. But Darlene is still on the loose. It was bad enough when the woman was manipulating Ginger from afar, but now Darlene is in Portland wreaking up-close-and-personal havoc under the assumed identity of Isabelle Dunkirk.

Obsessed. Love his fast paced writing style and the multiple cases they have going on at once. I love Ginger Mitchell and her merry band of misfits and really hope that there will be more Roseland volumes in the near future. All the Roseland books were well worth the credits!

Historia
SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer has guns on her mind. There’s buzz of a last-ditch shipment of drugs and weapons crossing the Mexican border ahead of new restrictive gun laws. Before Lindsay can act, her top informant tips her to a case that hits disturbingly close to home. Former cops. Professional hits. All with the same warning scrawled on their bodies.

Should've known better
Revisado: 06-03-22
I keep wasting my money and credits on the Women's Murder Club series when it's clearly past it's prime. These books are churned out for profit without caring about quality, and the last few it's especially evident. I like this narrator but the way she reads everything Lindsey says as overly dramatic starts to get annoying. The secondary plot with the little girl just seemed like filler - most of the book seems like filler until it is wrapped up with a nice little predictable bow.

Meh
Revisado: 01-06-22
While the premise is interesting and could be a recipe for an good series, the book falls flat. There is a lot of superficial dialogue between the characters such as sarcastic remarks that are corny rather than hitting the mark. It's hard to care about the characters and Astra and Blake act like the mean girls of their task force instead of smart, tough, capable FBI agents. The narration was all wrong for this kind of a story as it was read much too peppy with a jovial cadence which doesn't go with the subject matter. Also, there is too much "ball busting" between the characters. I usually don't mind that at all but it reads so forced in this book. The 2 main characters are constantly "snickering" and "holding back laughs" at things that are not funny none of the characters really have chemistry -even the "2 best friends". The constant one liners and repeating of things in the book eats up the time as if they were trying to fill the space. The whole discovery, pursuit and capture of the suspect is all wrapped up in the last hour.

Historia
When the biggest colony ship in human history was sent to settle a paradise world, an accident hurtled it deep into uncharted space. A thousand light years from Earth, with no way home and no way to call for help, the colonists’ only hope for survival was the one barely habitable planet in range, a nightmare world they named Croatoan. Landing on the only five mountain peaks tall enough to rise above the lethal acid clouds, the settlers carved a civilization from the rock.

Suspenseful, nice plot twists - an entertaining listen for sure. I really enjoy Peter Swanson's style of writing and love getting a glimpse into each characters point of view from the beginning of a specific scenario. Give a listen (or a read) to The Kind Worth Killing by this author as well!

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

The accents and cadence of each character really brought the story to life! Best autobiography I have come across in a while.
