Historia
Roger Reaves grew up a poor farm boy in Georgia and went from making 'moonshine' to becoming one of the most prolific smugglers of the 20th century. He covered six continents, transporting 20 ton ship loads of hash, tons of cocaine, and completed more than 100 sorties across the US border with plane loads of marijuana. His friends and associates spanned the globe - from Medellin Cartel kingpins Jorge Ochoa and Pablo Escobar, to "Mr. Nice" Howard Marks and the infamous Barry Seal who was Roger's close friend and employee.

Yea he's not an author, so what?
Revisado: 04-27-22
I have seen a few negative reviews on this book about "how it wasn't well written", "poor plot", etc. Sure, Roger Reaves isn't a true "author", but this is basically his memoirs. Sure it rambles a little from time to time, but this man has done more adventurous stuff in his life than the majority of us could even dream of.
Bottom line, I found it highly entertaining, and I'm glad Mr. Reaves was able to share this.

Good first book for Eric Stone
Revisado: 10-04-20
Overall good read. There were a couple things I didn't like but this was Eric Stone's first book so presumably he will get better. Great narration as always by Nick Sullivan. Looking forward to more.

Historia
Marine biologist and former government agent Doc Ford is sure he's beyond the point of being surprised by his longtime pal Tomlinson's madcap tales of his misspent youth. But he's stunned anew when avowed bachelor Tomlinson reveals that as a younger man strapped for cash, he'd unwittingly fathered multiple children via for-profit sperm bank donations. Thanks to genealogy websites, Tomlinson's now-grown offspring have tracked him down, seeking answers about their roots...but Doc quickly grows suspicious that one of them might be planning something far more nefarious.

Like earlier Doc Ford books
Revisado: 07-15-20
Liked it a lot. Felt like one of the earlier novels! The middle Doc Ford novels in the teens were a little rough lol. Between this and book 25, I feel like Randy Wayne White is back in the swing. And good ending as well. Never been a huge fan of George Guidall but he does a decent job in this series.

Historia
By the mid 1980s, the criminal underworld in the United States had become an ethnic polyglot; one of the most powerful illicit organizations was none other than the Cuban mob. Known on both sides of the law as "the Corporation", the Cuban mob's power stemmed from a criminal culture embedded in south Florida's exile community - those who had been chased from the island by Castro's revolution and planned to overthrow the Marxist dictator and reclaim their nation.

Surprise
Revisado: 04-11-20
Excellent book in my opinion. John Patten does a great job including grit, humor, tragedy, and human feeling into this story, and the narrator brings it all to life fantastically. You can tell this author spent a lot of time reading authors such as John Macdonald and other noir authors. It really shows. Mr. Patten I look forward to more of your work in the future and hopefully audible adds your other two books sometime soon.

Dangit Brad I cried.
Revisado: 02-23-20
Loved it. Just like all of his books. But with the addition of Amena these books get even better. The comedy, the heartbreak, and the cuteness that kid adds to the story line really brings it all together. It used to be all about the action, but now you got my feelings too, which really pulls on the heart strings and makes this an even more complete series. Bravo sir. Keep it up. And as always Rich Orlow does a phenomenal job at the narration.

Revisado: 06-11-18
Like several other reviews I've read on this book, I kind of used this as a "filler" in between some of the other authors I regularly listen to. However this book was a very pleasant surprise. Very good story line, good character development, good action, and good pace. And the relationship between the main character and his sister just made my heart smile as I have someone similar in my life.
Overall great read and I'm definitely looking forward to more from this author.

Historia
An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive - and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous - that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

Narrator is 👎
Revisado: 05-13-17
I normally don't write reviews, however I just wanted to state that this narrator was a total cheeseball. Almost like he idolizes Christian Bale from batman. I guess I got spoiled by the 5 previous books being narrated by Dick Hill. Luckily Connelly is such a great writer that the book is still a great listen.
