Another M. J. Lawrie story that raised my blood pressure, gave me heart palpitations and caused my stomach to sink all the way to my feet CONTINUALLY. At this point, I've come to expect it with any of her works. The Last Witch is no different.

Story-
Extremely compelling plot line that was quite original in comparison to similarly themed works. There's a distinct but very small feeling of dread that I found myself feeling throughout large portions of the story which would be validated once another of the many jaw dropping twists or betrayals would be revealed.

Strong heroine who only gets stronger both emotionally and physically throughout the story as she consolidates her past with all she's now learning about what it means to be a witch of her caliber. Love interests that give you whiplash and lots of pause. Just fantastic all around, I don't wanna get too much into it to avoid spoilers but I am super excited to see where this continues in the next books!

Performance -
Terrific narration by Amy Putt! Differentiation between characters was great, cadence and enunciation was great and I didn't need to rewind to get another listen unless I myself wasn't paying attention the first time around. You could certainly get the most out of this story by any way you choose to consume it!
