Historia
All life on Earth has been stolen away by The System. It was transported to another world at the behest of a distant galactic empire that lives in terror of humanity's potential. Ben - just a normal, if not slightly above average guy - had been about to go on the first real vacation of his adult life. But plans changed. Now, he must contend with danger and mystery in a world full of monsters, magic, and treasure. Armed with nothing but his wits and a special item given to him by The System, he embarks on a damn good adventure.

Colorful language, slapstick laughs, with little life nuggets
Revisado: 12-19-24
Admittedly there is too much time on the space elves (possible spin-off perhaps). The ocean scene has its moments but it gets much better at the job interview as well, the next books are better so give it an honest shot.
There is lots of potty mouth but the series is hilarious! This was my first experience listening to Johnathan's narration and look forward to future listens in hopes of some sci-fi. I enjoyed every character. I'm glad I gave this series a chance. You may enjoy "Shopocalypes Saga" if you like Ben and his friends. This is my second series with Mathew, starting with "Dirk Cooper" also hilarious.

Historia
In a former life, Jack was gifted, meaning he possessed peculiar abilities. If rich folks found themselves in a jam, Jack could use his talents to get them out of it. Where others were sure to fail, Jack's aristocratic clientele could always count on him to finish jobs cleanly, efficiently, and leave no trace, for which his services commanded a hefty fee. But one day, Jack picked a fight with the wrong man and his old life came to an end. But, as it turned out, his story was far from over.

Revisado: 12-14-24
I was going to pass on the book because the preview recording was not great. I didn't care much for the summary either. I bought the entire series because it went on sale and I'm glad I did. I feel the characters and the battles get better as it continues. I look forward to more of both, the author and narrator. Just a side note... the characters aren't from USA and not everything is American english.

Revisado: 11-20-24
I'm a fan of Johnathan's books and most of them are pretty on point with military stuff but I lean towards his zombie stuff. I bought this book because of the spin off. This book just wasn't for me. I wish there was a little more creative description and little less foul language. I think it's great that he points out some of the struggles female warriors face. If back to back action is your thing you will enjoy it.

Historia
Return to the zombie apocalypse wasteland that is the Rot & Ruin in this short story collection from Jonathan Maberry. Benny Imura's zombie-infested adventures are well-chronicled in the gripping novels Rot & Ruin, Dust & Decay, Flesh & Bone, and Fire & Ash. But what else was happening while he was on his quest? Who were the others navigating the ravaged landscape full of zombies? Bits & Pieces fills in the gaps about what we know about First Night, surviving the plague, and traveling the land of Rot & Ruin.

Revisado: 10-20-24
I find myself debating with my son if this book should have been first or the book is in correct order. No disrespect to Brian's narration in the previous books but I feel Dana and Ray bring more emotion to this book. I found myself many times with clenched fists.

Reeling from the devastation of Dust & Decay, Benny Imura and his friends plunge deep into the zombie-infested wastelands of the great Rot & Ruin. Benny, Nix, Lilah, and Chong journey through a fierce wilderness that was once America, searching for the jet they saw in the skies months ago. If that jet exists, then humanity itself must have survived somewhere.

This book shows another aspect of a warrior that many forget about. This book is a little repetitive to reflect some of the previous books. Still enjoyable and teachable.

Historia
A New York Times best-selling author and multiple Bram Stoker Award winner, Marvel Comics writer Jonathan Maberry continues the story he began in Rot and Ruin. Six months have passed since Benny Imura and Nix Riley learned that flesh-eating zombies aren’t the scariest or most dangerous monsters around. Now, Benny’s brother Tom is training them in the art of zombie whacking. But as they plan to leave and find a better future, a zombie attack puts a crimp in their plans.

I had to mind myself that I'm are not Samurai
Revisado: 10-20-24
As an adult, the teens drive me nuts but there are some funny moments my Son and I get to talk trash about the teens in the book. Tom makes me forgot I'm old and don't move as fast nor as good with a sword. Through Tom, I reflect my through glory days and my ego swells. My teen keeps reminding me however, I am no samurai. Be prepared to finish on a sad note.

Keep with it
Revisado: 10-20-24
My son and I share love for Jonathan's stories. This book starts very very slow and doesn't even make a lot of sense in the beginning. It does pick up and comes together later. There is more ha-ya in the next book. There is a continuous void of backgrounds until book 4 but gets more exciting as the books continue. The audience is mostly for teens in my opinion. That said, there are some teachable moments as well it opened up some conversations with my son especially book 3.

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.
