Great Book, Bad Editing

My Opinion: Kind of condescending tone and context

Again, this is strictly my opinion, but both the tone of the narrator, as well as the context of the content comes off as somewhat condescending or "you're obviously wrong." I am new to Christianity and understand my previous mindset was misguided, but I didn't care for how the author made me feel like I was uneducated with my questions. Where I threw in the towel was around where he was explaining the origins of the universe and life. He addressed what I feel was a reasonable question, but said (not verbatim) "that is something a child would ask."
This read seems more like a lecture, both educationally and disciplinary. I think I am looking for something more relatable and understanding.
