Loved this book and the very different characters. Also enjoyed the reader except that he should have done a little linguistic homework before hand. The names of local areas such as Ponte Vedra were incorrectly pronounced. There were several of these and it was distracting to the story. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed the book.

We listened to this wonderful book On the way to western North Carolina. In our car were four women ranging from about 50 - 97 years of age. It would be impossible to choose who enjoyed it more. Thanks Adriana for a great gift of shared pleasures.

I don't know what I expected from this book, but it was a wonderful surprise. I loved this book. The reader was great and even tho it is a translation and sometimes words were in the original language this only added to the pleasure. I laughed out loud and many days did not want to get out of the car! The characters will not be forgotten.

I have been listening to cd books for years and this is my first Audible experience. I love it.
What did you like best about this story?
This is a fabulous, true to life historical fiction book about Florida in the very early days. This author spent much time digging for facts and then weaving them into a great story.
Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?
George Guidall is an excellent reader and his inflection is remarkable. We liked all the characters as he portrayed them.
