Historia
Nils Shapiro accepts what appears to be an easy, lucrative job: find out if Beverly Mayer’s grandson is foolishly throwing away his trust fund in Hollywood, especially now, in the wake of his fiancée’s tragic death. However, that easy job becomes much more complicated once Nils arrives in Los Angeles, a disorienting place where the sunshine hides dark secrets. Nils quickly suspects that Ebben Mayer’s fiancée was murdered and that Ebben himself may have been the target.

Good conclusion to the initial story arc.
Revisado: 09-20-20
Like most reviewers, I am not a fan of the new narrator. And like many other reviewers, I almost gave up during the first hour. But I stuck it out was happy I did so. Although these are stand alone books, I felt like this was the conclusion of the first story arc. I look forward to the next.

Historia
He is only in his early 30s, but now Quinn Colson is jobless - voted out of office as sheriff of Tibbehah County, Mississippi, thanks to the machinations of county kingpin Johnny Stagg. He has offers from bigger and better places, but before he goes, he's got one more job to do - bring down Stagg's criminal operations for good. At least that's the plan.

Good, but not great.
Revisado: 08-16-19
I've enjoyed this series so far. I agree with other readers - this is not the strongest one in the series. Considering the impact this book had on some major characters, I was a bit disappointed with the overall story. And where was Boone at the end of the book? He didn't even try to find Quinn or help Lily? It is almost like the author forgot all about him. I also couldn't believe there was a 15 month jump at the end of the book. That's a lot of time to skip. Also, Audible's summary of the book was so wrong. Nonetheless, I'll definitely listen to the next one in the series.

With his daughter lying in the hospital, struck down in a reckless hit-and-run, the only thing Jon Reznick can do is wait—and plot his revenge. Not satisfied with the slow-moving police investigation, he starts his own manhunt. He discovers that the car belongs to a high-ranking diplomat whose interests are closely tied to those of the United States government, and this man may not be what he appears. Not good at all.
Revisado: 06-20-19
I've taken this series for what it is - a fun series about an outsider always trying to solve problems that need to be solved without adhering to "rules." But this book was so bad, I'd give it 0 stars if that was a possibility. I found myself wanting to strangle every single character in the book. No real plot. No character development. Lots of empty phrases and sentences. I'm done with this series and won't read anymore.
