I loved this series & listened to all 3 books to the detriment of sleep over 3 days. There are dark elements but NOT dark like Haunting Adeline, the latter 2 books being more emotional causing a few tears. This 3rd had groveling by one of the MMCs for his ginormous mistakes but she forgives a bit too easily. The spice is very spicy but not as detailed as some dark romance. The conclusion was satisfying if a bit thin. Not nearly as vindictive or detailed as is it could be. The stories are really about the relationships. I really wish the author had spent more time getting to know the MMCs in greater detail. K & Nicky just were not deep enough as characters. And Decker was almost non-existent in the 3rd book. There’s a female narrator who is great (even does male voices VERY sexy), primary male who is great & a secondary who is good but less conversationally natural. But my BIGGEST pet peeve is even when narrators are in duet the males voice the female parts in screechy fake female voice, when there IS A FEMALE NARRATOR. But it’s not just that… the male narrators are doing their parts & pretending to be each other as well which leaves you confused as to WHO the male is they’re narrating. None more obvious than K whose part is Very distinctive. Overall a REALLY good series with satisfying spice & emotional impact.

Good story, Narration good overall but… don’t use those male narrators for female falsettos.

Loved the story but… not the males narrating male parts who had sections where they had to interject with female speech, especially during intimate moments. It was really annoying. I love a good Aussie accent & the narrators did a good job with their gender parts… BUT the males doing those screechy female falsettos, mostly of Natalie expressing her enthusiasm during pleasure, took me right out of the moment and undid all of the immersion into the story. It was like hitting a 5 foot speed bump made of bricks. If you’re going to do “in duet” please use females for all parts. Otherwise just use a female narrator for the whole story. The males narrating were enough to get me hot bothered but their female parts were just nails on a chalkboard awful. So please bring them back for male speaking but NOT for the ladies. Sam Hall’s story was good, narrators good with THEIR parts, BUT… those males shouldn’t narrate females as screeching falsettos. 5 for story, 3 for male narration of female parts, 🌶️🌶️🌶️-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ for spice. Yes it’s Reverse Harem but not dark & for Why Choose hot but not sizzling. No crossed swords, and scenes kind of vanilla for multiple partner scenarios. Sex is plentiful, some edging, bare mention of anything outside of standard positions

Deliciously seductive, sassy, silly, & occasionally sad

This series is REALLY 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ everything goes. And the narrators?!? Caleb & Alec can croon me into Adultery ANY day of the week. Where do I sign up for the sinners list?!? A satisfying conclusion to the first set in the Mate Games Series (War). Now on to Pestilence. Many more comedic scenes, some eye faucet tragedies. RH, MFMMM, mild BDSM, very detailed, really spicy scenes & multiple partner scenes but no crossed swords.
