Amazing book, terrible performance
Revisado: 03-23-22
the book is amazing in introducing you to a little bit of technology behind Bitcoin, however the narrator clearly struggles with pronunciation of these tech words, very often making mistakes and confusing the listener.
i recommend this audiobook only if you're reading the main book, and using audiobook as a companion to revise

amazing work!
Revisado: 04-14-19
A captivating journey from the beginning to the end of the book. Yuval Noah Harari takes you on an fascinating journey into the social, economical and psychological aspects of the human race and it's development. The book is NOT pretensius, instead each issue or dillema is laid out as a thought experiment. Mr Harari avoids senseless jargon to go to the essence with simple, but not simplistic language.
The narrator is also amazing. You easily follow along, soak in the pronunciation and emotional underlining of certain paragraphs. Personally, this is one of the best narrators on audible.
excuse me as I listen to other books by Yuval Noah Harari.

Historia
What is the boy crisis? It's a crisis of education. For the first time in American history, our sons will have less education than their dads. It's a crisis of mental health. As boys become young men, their suicide rates go from equal to girls to six times that of young women. It's a crisis of sexuality. Sex is a minefield for our sons. They're bombarded with mixed messages, afraid of being either too sensitive or not sensitive enough.

a rather pseudoscientific approach
Revisado: 09-01-18
I won't expand greatly on this book. first part written by Warren Ferrel is rather accurate depiction, on a rather important topic. what irritated me is the constant repetitions of already made arguments. The second part of the book, narrated by Dr Gray is a dubious invitation into the world of pseudo medicines, homeopathy, alternative approaches and a clear advertising of his own mineral supplement, that are unique because they are able to penetrate gut-brain barrier.
also book is an account of a traditional US family model, where father or the son is honoured by going to the army, and the problem is not the Killing of the "enemies", but rather insufficient care and cultural parachutes after he goes back to being a civilian. encouragement to join a Sunday schools, Churches etc only added my allienation , as I come from a different cultural background. overalls I expected a strong, scientific research on the topic of male geneder issues only to receive a watered down, pseudo scientific propaganda, although with good will at heart.

Historia
Who Owns the Future? is a visionary reckoning with the effects network technologies have had on our economy. Lanier asserts that the rise of digital networks led our economy into recession and decimated the middle class. Now, as technology flattens more and more industries - from media to medicine to manufacturing - we are facing even greater challenges to employment and personal wealth. But there is an alternative to allowing technology to own our future....

humanistic technocrat - a rare and needed species
Revisado: 03-30-17
Jaron impresses me as a human being and as a technologist. outspoken, educated, presenting well-thought ideas, abstaining from extremes, being a pragmatist - just what the world needs today.
