Can we give the narrator an A* .. she’s amazing , calm, but yet easy to follow and understand. Some would be calm and you can’t follow .. but she’s really good

Historia
Dr. Brown defines spirituality as something not reliant on religion, theology, or dogma - rather, it is a belief in our interconnectedness and in a loving force greater than ourselves. Whether you access the sacred through traditional worship, solitary meditation, communion with nature, or creative pursuits, one thing is clear: Rising strong after falling is a spiritual practice that brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives.

Historia
Forcibly removed from the olive-farming village of Ein Hod by the newly formed state of Israel in 1948, the Abulhejos are displaced to live in canvas tents in the Jenin refugee camp. We follow the Abulhejo family as they live through a half century of violent history. Amid the loss and fear, hatred and pain, as their tents are replaced by more forebodingly permanent cinderblock huts, there is always the waiting, waiting to return to a lost home.

My second book in a week for Susan
Revisado: 01-12-23
She’s a great story teller. The only mistletoe with this book is that it’s narrated by none Arab, so the Arabic words for us who speak Arabic are not pronounced correctly, but even with this you can’t stop listening to the book.

Historia
What does it take to be secure in our sense of belonging and self-worth? We may hustle to attain this security through achievements, meeting expectations, or repeating affirmations to ourselves - but Dr. Brené Brown's research has shown there is ultimately one obstacle to our sense of worthiness. “Shame is the barrier,” she teaches, “and building shame resilience is how we overcome it.”

Can we teach this in schools ?
Revisado: 12-02-22
This must be taught in schools and life, if everyone learns everything written here, the world would be a better place. Brené is amazing in the way she breaks things into simpler steps for anyone with any background to digits and understands.

Every culture is a Pakistani one
Revisado: 11-12-21
The book was hilarious, even though it was written based on the Pakistani culture, it represents every culture. We still have this worry in every family even if it’s not that obvious but it’s there. Loved the narration, I felt I was living in a movie.

Bad choice of narrator
Revisado: 10-12-20
As much as I LOVED the book, the narrator wasn’t the right choice. Her pronunciation of the Arabic words was really bad. I would sometimes struggle to know what the real word is. I wish the narrator was someone with Arabic accent.

Not for all mothers
Revisado: 03-05-17
It's a great book, but I felt it's not for my stage. I have 2 teenagers and one 7 years old. All the examples is for parents with a toddler and a baby. I can still use the ideas for my case. But this age group needs another book. So if you are planning to have your second, or just had your second and the age difference is not big .. this is the book for you.
