Historia
When all seems lost, where can hope be found? Katherine and Jay married right after college and sought adventure far from home in Los Angeles, CA. As they pursued their dreams - she as a model and he as a lawyer - they planted their lives in the city and in their church community. Their son, James, came along unexpectedly in the fall of 2007, and just six months later, everything changed in a moment for this young family. On April 21, 2008, as James slept in the other room, Katherine collapsed, suffering a massive brain stem stroke without warning.

Bourdain delivers a great life story
Revisado: 03-23-16
Would you listen to Kitchen Confidential again? Why?
I would, there was a lot of information on how to run a kitchen/restaurant and he goes through so much of it you can't help but pick up some new things if you listen more than once.
What did you like best about this story?
Bourdain's voice--he is an excellent narrator in my opinion. Hearing the beginnings of his career and how he graduated from CIA was entertaining.
Have you listened to any of Anthony Bourdain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I plan to get the rest of his books, I have not heard any others yet.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Culinary Badass Through the Years
Any additional comments?
He has a likable personality, great stories, and a unique but fair attitude for his world of food.

Hugh Hefner is a prick and Holly Madison is great
Revisado: 07-17-15
If you could sum up Down the Rabbit Hole in three words, what would they be?
It's not going to be a literary master piece, but it was sort of juicy in the gossip of what goes on at that sad house. Honestly, I didn't know Hef was such a dick to these girls. He acts like a 3 year old according to Holly's account; I doubt she would lie. She has no reason to, she's successful without him. She goes into great detail about her time there and exactly what they were doing, not what the camera's were filming for the reality show (which I remember watching.) I always thought: "Eww how could she love that old bag?" She didn't! Even better! Overall, interesting to listen to and mindless enough to put on while doing housework, driving, sitting at the pool.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
How Holly and the other girls where subjected to many petty rules, how petty a lot of them acted, and how ridiculous Hef acts with them. The least interesting was anything to do with Criss Angel. Don't get me started on that loser. Holly, WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING?
What does Holly Madison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her wholesome personality is great, she's down to earth and is pretty easy to listen to as a narrator.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I couldn't make this into a film...it just wouldn't work!

Smart read for ridding sugar from your diet
Revisado: 10-08-14
Would you listen to Year of No Sugar again? Why?
Yes, I loved the idea of having not sugar for a year. Using her family with the project was very relatable because I myself would love to try something like that. I would actually listen to this book again for her ideas and tips of what she did to get through the year.
What did you like best about this story?
Eve is honest and easy to relate to. She write's well and with Hillary Huber reading it I enjoyed this a great deal. Nutrition is a topic I am always interested in.
Have you listened to any of Hillary Huber and John Lee ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, and they all sound great.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me really consider how horrible sugar is and how much we don't need it in our diets. It really made me think and possibly want to try something like her experiment.
Any additional comments?
Eve has a website that is also a nice read as well.

The Dirty Truth About Parenting
Revisado: 10-08-14
Would you try another book from Karen Alpert and/or Karen Alpert?
Yes I would, as long as she stops talking about poop so much.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Karen's kids sound awesome. They are the main characters after all....
Would you be willing to try another one of Karen Alpert’s performances?
Yes.
Did I Heart My Little A-Holes inspire you to do anything?
When I have kids, I will definitely not take everything so seriously. Just enjoy them and all of the little experiences that come with them.
Any additional comments?
Karen desperately tries to be so funny with her "Eff this" and "eff that" but then she'll just say the word f**k. Her constant obsession with discussing poop does get old after a while. And her sing-song voice is painfully annoying after the first 5 minutes but overall it is a funny book. And for the love of God, stop calling it Tar-ghay....Thats so beyond annoying.
