Historia
When Beth moves to the beautiful island of Bermuda to set up a tax haven for her family, she never expects to be drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse. As the body count on the island rises with blackmail, corruption, arson, catfishing, and sex tapes intertwined, Beth teams up with locals Tony Durant, a former attorney for the Ministry of Justice in London, and Serena Steede, a local investigator, to form a small law firm to defend the accused.

Review
Revisado: 07-11-23
Virtually all reviews gush complements.
I thought the story suffered from the current anti male problem, although it had one non-perfect female. The men were basically bad or dumb, but commonly very attractive.

Historia
Pulitzer Prize-winning author James A. Michener, whose novels hurtle from the far reaches of history to the dark corners of the world, paints an intoxicating portrait of a land whose past and present are as turbulent, fascinating, and colorful as any other on Earth. When an American journalist travels to report on the upcoming duel between two great matadors, he is ultimately swept up in the dramatic story of his own Mexican ancestry.

Too much bull fighting
Revisado: 04-15-21
This had more bullfighting then I would’ve preferred. I would’ve preferred more about Mexico. There are more places in Mexico then Toledo.

Historia
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

Historia
The Mill on the Floss, first published in 1860, tells the story of Maggie Tulliver and her brother Tom as they grow from children to young adults in the small rural town of St. Ogg's, England. Intelligent and passionate, Maggie yearns to develop her mind and break free of the constraints of her provincial village. Though she loves her brother above anyone else, Tom's rigid, pragmatic personality often conflicts with Maggie's headstrong nature, with increasingly tragic consequences.

Mill on the Floss
Revisado: 08-21-12
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
No. See below.
Any additional comments?
Despite the bucolic title and setting, the recording was apparently accelerated to the point of hardly being able to follow it. It was probably not the narrator's doing. The producer probably wanted to save on recording time, a not unreasonable desire. However, it detracted significantly from my enjoyment of the book.
