Historia
The War on Warriors uncovers the deep roots of our dysfunction—a society that has forgotten the men who take risks, cut through red tape, and get their hands dirty. The only kind of men prepared to face the dangers that the Left pretends don’t exist. Unlike issues of education or taxes or crime, this problem doesn’t have a zip code solution. We can’t move away from it. We can’t avoid it. We have only one Pentagon. Either we take it back or surrender it altogether.

That as a Veteran I could relate to many of her stories that told for individuals.

I like that she gave words to so many Vets stories that might otherwise been lost forever.

Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Women Vets
Revisado: 07-08-24
As an AF Combat Nurse in Iraq & Afghanistan, I was taken back by the similarities. War is hell on earth whether being in outside the wire or in a medical hospital taking care of the injured soldiers & mass cals…. I was blessed to be welcomed home but still suffered PTSD & although the VA is trying much harder to help us, those first few years were tough. It was hard to hear “I’m not sure what you’ve seen or been through but we’re here to help.” We depended on our battle buddies & work to keep us busy. Staying busy didn’t allow your body to take a break or your mind to remember the horrible sights we saw. Sleep was almost nonexistent & crowds, helicopters & loud noise found me & many of my friends on the ground. I wish I could say that over the years it’s gone away but it hasn’t. Waking up on the floor in a sweat trying to catch my breath still happens. Burnt flesh smells & blood is a trigger as well. But we lived & made it home to our families & that is a blessing. I am thankful for all my nurse & scrub tech friends who still keep in touch thru Facebook & reunion roadtrips. I will always be thankful that I had the opportunity to serve & defend our great country.

Historia
What would it be like to get so close to God that we could see ourselves in his eyeballs? Not because we want to look at ourselves, but because we want to be that close to him--to the mysterious, wonderful, invisible God who reveals himself even in temptations, trials, and dangers.
