Historia
Heidi Mattson successfully united sex and scholarship to realize a '90s version of the American Dream by becoming a smart, sassy, self-confident stripper while attending Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Intelligent and ambitious, she grew up in small-town Maine, and her whole town applauded when Brown accepted her. But school and living expenses carried a high price tag - one she couldn't meet by waiting tables and cleaning houses. A chance ad brought her to The Foxy Lady, a strip club in Providence not far from campus.

Underwhelming

Any additional comments?
I really did not find this an interesting read. I purchased the book because I also went to college in Providence and heard stories about the Foxy Lady. Unfortunately nothing really resonated with me once I started listening. The narrator had a and older, posh sounding voice which made me less interested as well since I was hoping the story would be more like listening from the perspective of someone who was actually in college.

A little predictable, but still as sweet story.
Revisado: 03-23-15
If you could sum up The Next Thing on My List in three words, what would they be?
Eat. Pray. Love.
What other book might you compare The Next Thing on My List to and why?
See above.
Any additional comments?
The book was predicable. Once I got half way through it, I pretty much knew how it was going to send, but the narrator was nice to listen too and just like watching a Rom Com it was just a sweet story.
***Spoilers***
If there was anything I could change about this book it would be that the last two chapters it seemed like the author just threw in a last minute love interest which was disappointed because one of the lessons I was hoping the main character would learn was that she does not need a man.

Historia
By day he made thousands of dollars a minute. By night he spent it as fast as he could. From the binge that sank a 170-foot motor yacht and ran up a $700,000 hotel tab, to the wife and kids waiting at home and the fast-talking, hard-partying young stockbrokers who called him king, here, in Jordan Belfort's own words, is the story of the ill-fated genius they called the Wolf of Wall Street.

Just watch the movie...
Revisado: 03-20-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, but I'm sure that someone who was once in a college frat that doesn't want to deal with the real world would love it.
If you’ve listened to books by Jordan Belfort before, how does this one compare?
No
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Has this guy ever HEARD woman speak?! His voice for Nadine was so shrill and annoying, I feel like Jordan Belfort told him to do it on purpose as an insult to his ex-wife.
Was The Wolf of Wall Street (Movie Tie-in Edition) worth the listening time?
No--the main character would go off on these long, boring monologues to talk about how smart he is out-smarting the U.S. government and how glamorous his life is. The whole book came off as totally narcissistic. At least the movie has Leonardo DiCaprio to distract me from that.
Any additional comments?
Everyone always says "the book is way better than the movie". In this case, I would just watch the movie because (1) it gives this guy a smaller royalty if you watch it on Netflix and (2) you'll get the same information in 2 hours instead of 20.
