This was a tough listen

From the opening line to the first chapter of the second book It was all anger. maybe it was narrative. Im a sarcastic person and get it but it was terrible. No inflections. Every character, except maybe the "lunch date" came across as angry. I will try a book read in a couple of months to get the narrator out of my head and see if I can actually make the funny and sensual/sarcastic not sound so angry.

I grew up in foster care, he was raised in a palace. No matter the power of our heated looks, or how much my blood surges whenever he’s around, whatever we have will be short-lived. Heartbreak is all I’ve ever known. He’s welcome to the pieces.

Can't wait for Book 3!!

I really loved the blend from first book to second. I had a hard time staying focused on James throughout book due to narrarators voice. It took several seconds into the conversations to realize it was James' conversation.

Finally a book a book of well written main character s that actually have intuition instead of misunderstandings. Over all story line was really great. Ready for the next read. The narrator was able to capture the sarcasm and make me laugh.
