an enjoyable read
Revisado: 11-09-18
I enjoyed the story and liked the detail it went into with equiptment and fighting scenes. I see how the author took effort to rationalize the protagonist's decisions, however the right and wrong decisions were so obvious that it made it hard to accept when the wrong one was taken. i wish the choices were not so transparent. Overall i enjoyed the story and the world and plan to read the next in line.

great book
Revisado: 09-16-18
This book was well written and narrated. i had already listened to the Talent Code, which was great in understanding that having talent is attainable through proper practice and work and not something out of reach if you arent "born with it". I wanted to listen to the Culture Code, because it is focused on what makes a culture, whether a company, family, town or other environment work well and what makes it fall apart.
I want to foster the team I am in and help encourage positive growth in my company, and gives me great key points to focus on to do so. The most important lessons I have gained from this and will focus on at my job is making sure everyone on my team feels "safe" and is bonded like a family. This book is for everyone, not just a leader or manager.
I am at the bottom rung in my company, and some of our managers do the opposite of creating a safe fulfilling enviroment, however with these insights, I do not need to wait for a boss to fix my team, as long as I help create cues of trust excitement and safety for those around me, we can have a happy productive environment. I will be rereading this book after putting some of the key points into action and being ready to take our culture to the next level.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

it had interesting talking points
Revisado: 05-24-18
this books had interesting points that it brought into light. I am glad that I read it as it has been on my list for quite some time. The books tries to demystify the assumption that a truly outstanding person got to their place and position soley on true grit, but by their circumstance and hard work.
It changes pace near the middle and I feel that the book overall could be more cohesive. At one point i'm learning different examples on people's availability of education allowing them for further growth, and suddenly I am listening to a full chapter on Korean air.

No new pieces of information.
Revisado: 05-15-18
This audiobook contained nothing I hadnt heard before. although most of the information it contains is pertinent to good study habits, it didnt give me any new leads on how to grow as a student. i expected more of a walkthough on better time management and study habits to keep your brain alert, but i dont feel that I recieved such. I may listen to it again to try and reform my opinion on it, but a first listen through left me less than inspired.

A must read
Revisado: 04-08-18
although the writing can be dry at times, and it may need a few reads over to catch all the information in this book, I could not believe how much this information opened my eyes. it accurately predicted everything that happened to parts of my family once my grandmother died. not only did it explain the situation to a T, it explained the whys and more in depth analysis of how a situation could happen. no matter who you are, you fall into the financial mindset categories that are detailed in this book. After better listening to this audiobook, i have a far better understanding of my strenghts and more importantly my weaknesses are when it comes to finances, saving and investing. i already started recommending this book to people and discussing the topics long before I even finished the book. i highly reccomend this to everyone who cares to improve themselves. dont worry if you dont catch every sentance, the parts that stick will hit you like a ton of bricks.

I couldn't put it down.
Revisado: 02-22-18
It took me a while to listen to this audiobook because it had a lot of mixed reviews, but it kept appearing and intrigued me. Maybe it is from bring born in the 80's and growing up in the early 90's or maybe it is from associating with the main characters in the book so well, but this book had me enchanted from the first broadcast of Halliday's will. It was well written and realistic, posing the reading with the joys and faults of getting caught up in a virtual world. The easter eggs alone are enough to give this book a high rating, but the story and character move along in a well thought out passage of time. the worlds created throughout the story are clear and gritty, with so many dynamic areas to visualise. It was very hard for me to put the book down the few times I did.

An incredible but true account of achieving one of the most awe-inspiring midlife physical transformations ever. In October 2006, the night before he was to turn 40, Rich experienced a chilling glimpse of his future. Nearly 50 pounds overweight and unable to climb the stairs without stopping, he saw where his sedentary lifestyle was taking him. Most of us look the other way when granted such a moment of clarity, but not Rich.

A very nice memoir telling the story of how Rich grew up, struggled, succeeded and grew throughout his life. Normally i worry when the author is also the speaker for an audoo book, but he did a great job, and i enjoyed listening.

felt like listening to paid programming
Revisado: 08-16-17
for someone who states in this book that motivation is a bunch of bs, it is ironic that this book nothing more than a motivational speech. the first three chapters are devoted to telling you how incredible the 5 second rule works - I already read the description, I already bought the book and am now reading it, quit selling it and get on with the point. if you want to feel motivated, this book is for you, if you want to know the 5 second rule - count down get on five and start. done. Mel has good spirit and I can believe she would be good at motivating people, but I don't like the way the book was guised to be anything other than that.

A very winding path to get information
Revisado: 08-09-17
the author has very interesting and notable information and experience. You can tell he did a lot of diligent field work and research on his topic and if he had nailed down what he wanted this book to be, I would have found it much more impactful. is this book a memoir on his " year of productivity"? Is it a self help guide for readers who wish to be more productive? Is it an inspirational book, or a reference to many other books and research concepts of note? if the author has narrowed in on this question, I believe the book would have taken a more cohesive form instead of sounding like a condensed version of his blog, where the rule of saying "no" was ignored and everything near topic was included. I found myself trying to keep my limbic system form constantly rolling my eyes every time he brought up a subject only to say something to the effect of " more on that in a later chapter". I'm glad I got through the whole book, eye rolls and all though, because sifting though the winding way he wrote this book, I gleaned a lot of good points to take into account to reasersh more into.
