Historia
Bowdoin and his crew have grown in both strength and reach. They have taken on all comers, gangs, corpo, and otherwise, and expanded their domain to include the entirety of their arcology. But they have not avoided entrapment. Ostensibly, Bowdoin is doing work for hire for the hacker corporation Inside Eye. The reality of it is bleaker than this. The chains may be pretty and invisible to the naked eye, but they are still there.

Hoping for More Artem!
Revisado: 04-17-25
"Initiate: Hackers of Artem" is like getting three stories in one book! I liked how the audiobook had three different stories that were all connected. It made the book exciting because there was always something new happening. The people in the book, the characters, are really good too. I cared about what happened to them.
In this book, I thought the special powers people get from changing their bodies were more important than in the first book. It wasn't just something they had; it really changed what they could do and what happened in the story. That made the book even more interesting.
It was good to see one of the big stories from the last book end in this one. It felt like things were finished. But I really hope there will be another book in this series! If you liked the first book and want to read more about cool characters and a futuristic world that keeps changing, you should listen to "Initiate." It's a fun audiobook!

Somehow its even better than the first book!
Revisado: 11-29-22
This highly produced audiobook format is growing on me. The Characters seem more real. The story was great, flowed, and made sense. Sorta predictable with just enough variation thrown in to make it worth listening to it anyway.
I can't wait for the next in the series!

Historia
In keeping with the parable style, Patrick Lencioni begins by telling the fable of a woman who, as CEO of a struggling Silicon Valley firm, took control of a dysfunctional executive committee and helped its members succeed as a team. Story time over, Lencioni offers explicit instructions for overcoming the human behavioral tendencies that he says corrupt teams. Succinct yet sympathetic, this guide will be a boon for those struggling with the inherent difficulties of leading a group.

Quick and Easy to Understand
Revisado: 06-20-22
This is a quick and very easy-to-understand book. He uses the story to explain the Five Dysfunctions well.
All of these I've known in general, and once explained made very good sense.
I will use this to improve myself, and my team.

Historia
In Still Just a Geek, Wil revisits his 2004 collection of blog posts, Just a Geek, filled with insightful and often laugh-out-loud annotated comments, additional later writings, and all new material written for this publication. The result is an incredibly raw and honest memoir, in which Wil opens up about his life, about falling in love, about coming to grips with his past work, choices, and family, and finding fulfillment in the new phases of his career.

Ugh. :-(
Revisado: 06-20-22
So I didn't read the first book. Never heard of it until this one. I like TNG but was never a real "Trekkie" I knew who Wesley Crusher was, but only as a minor character on a show I kind of like watching reruns of on TV.
But Wil Wheaton, I know him as an excellent narrator. So much so that I buy ANY Audible book he narrates. Even this one, while I dislike much about it, he narrates it VERY VERY well.
So let's talk about this book. the FIRST WHOLE HOUR is nothing but introductions and mostly whining and apologizing about how offensive he wrote in the first book, which this one is just a retelling of the first book. Then he goes on over and over to apologize for things big and small. The smallest is he seems really upset because he once used the word "lame" in a negative manner.
Don't think you can skip the whing by just skipping the first hour, no he does it over and over and over and over and over again. (I am NOT sorry I said over so many times.)
Then on top of that, he is SO OFFENSIVE anyway. He actively ridicules anyone who believes in any sort of religion, while specifically making fun of Christians, and Jesus Christ himself. Look it's cool if he isn't religious. A lot of people are not. But it is NOT cool to make fun of those who are, especially the key religious figure of one of the largest religions in the world.
I was somewhat intrigued with his story until I realized he just repeats the same things over and over again.
I'll still listen to books he narrates, but 1/2 way through and I totally regret buying this one. I am going to see if Audible will take it back.
Ugh :-(

Not at all About Lawyers
Revisado: 05-14-21
I love almost all the John Grisham books. Sometimes he struggles when he doesn't write about law. Not here! This was a very well-developed book.
However, the story. Not to give anything away but I stopped and did not listen to the last 1hr. I doubt I ever will.
Wow, just wow.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

surprisingly good
Revisado: 04-13-18
the language is a bit much and was unnecessary. however, it is a great story and keeps the reader engaged, in the future but seems so likely. just the type of sci fi I prefer.
