Love the story, dislike the narrator. A lot. Can’t do a southern accent well, can’t do a male voice well, pronounces her r’s weird, and it’s boo-da, now bao-da.

Wonderful short story

As always, Ilona’s stories hold so many depths of meaning that leaves you wanting to listen to the whole thing all over again just to make sure you got all the commentary and subtext. Love this story about Roman, Finn, and Andorra.

Incredible production!

I love this series and the graphic audio production was incredible! They got all the characters right and the sounds and music added so much to the experience of listening to the story. By far and away my preferred way to listen to Ilona Andrews books (especially since I loathe the versions narrated by Renee Raudman).

Holy Moly this was one of the best books I’ve heard in decades!

My fiancé and I listened to this book while on a road trip and we binged the whole thing. I love what this author has done in crafting this story. The characters and their development are so believable, it’s so easy to loathe the ‘bad guys’ and the main protagonist is unapologetically powerful. We can’t wait for the sequel!

Not great, by a long shot

The main character just isn’t all that smart, nor does she stand up for herself. I’m halfway through and the fact that she hasn’t directly confronted her supposed friend for how she’s acting is insane to me. Ashley is a horrible person who doesn’t get called out on her behavior, Benedict is forgettable, and Petra is obtuse.

A scene that kicks me out of the realm of possibility is when Petra gets insulted as a ‘dross eater’ and not even a minute later is mooning over Benedict. I don’t know about you but being insulted is not foreplay to me and doesn’t put me in the mind for romance.

This could have been great, but it feels sloppy.

I’m hooked. Totally hooked. The world building is so unique and the characters incredible! I can’t wait to see where this goes!

Narrator still mispronounces some words, love the story

I love this series and the narrator is trying her best, but she pronounced ‘triad’ as TREE-ad and disagree with how she pronounces Carelian, Jeorgaz, and Arachena. and don’t get me started on ‘Guzman’. I hope the narrator can improve her pronunciations because her pace isn’t bad and I think she really fits the character.

GAH!!! I wish every book was performed like this!!

As someone who owns every Ilona Andrews book in print and digital but LOATHES Rene Raudman’s narration, this is the version I’ve been waiting for! It was so immersive and the voice actors did such an amazing job! The tone and inflection of everyone, the sounds, the music. I’m going to buy every book in this format, no others will satisfy this new standard.

I hate this narrator

This narrator is awful, the intonation doesn’t fit the characters or the situations, and the male voices are very hard to tell apart. This narrator also has a slight lisp, making some consonants difficult to make out, a very poor choice for the hard of hearing. Love TA White, but please choose someone else for the next book.
