Historia
One afternoon at an outdoor market in India, a man’s shadow disappears - an occurrence science cannot explain. He is only the first. The phenomenon spreads like a plague, and while those afflicted gain a strange new power, it comes at a horrible price: the loss of all their memories. Ory and his wife, Max, have escaped the Forgetting so far by hiding in an abandoned hotel deep in the woods. Their new life feels almost normal, until one day, Max’s shadow disappears, too.

Not bad but not great
Revisado: 02-12-22
I didn’t dislike this book by any means but I didn’t love it, either. I’m apparently different from everyone else and could not stand the male narrator. He sounded so monotone and lifeless to me. I almost gave up on the book completely until the female narrator began. While she was a bit over dramatic, she brought life into the character that the male narrator did not.
The story was interesting and fun, and I enjoyed it. There were a few parts where I got lost though and didn’t really understand what was happening or what the solution was. This may have been a different experience if I were reading a paper book but it was hard to follow audibly. The ending caught me by surprise, which was great! My overall impression though was “meh”.

Great performance by Claire Danes
Revisado: 08-06-18
This book was so good! I bought the audiobook since I know I'll never get around to watching the show. It's scary how timely this dystopian story is. Claire Danes was an excellent choice to read this book. And, for someone who has not seen the show, I love the commentary and interviews at the end. I highly recommend!
