Fantastic listen

I really enjoyed this. The narrator did a good job.
The book was funny but also serious and dealt with some heavy topics in a good way. I loved Seren - she makes a decidedly awkward and awesome mob boss. And Gabriella is just the sweetest, especially when it comes to looking after other people.
I definitely look forward to the next book in the series.

I do love a good vampire story and this didn't disappoint. And Abby was the perfect narrator due to the multitude of voices and accents required - she never disappoints!
If you are reading it for the romance - don't. It's a little unresolved but designed to be that way, I think.
I found this had decent worldbuilding and lots of different supernatural creatures, which was nice to see - I mean, who doesn't love mermaids?
I look forward to the next two in this series!

Absolutely loved this

Jamie has always had a crush on Lauren. When Lauren returns to the small town where she grew up and Jamie still lives, can they figure out if their different lives will mesh well together?
This book made me really stop and think. It focuses a bit on grief - Lauren is grieving for the recent loss of someone and Jamie knows what it's like to feel that sense of loss. Lauren's recent loss makes Jamie question if it's the right time to ask her on a date. But is there ever a good time for love?
The characters seemed so real and their character growth was well done. It did make me want to cry though, the angst that happens between them - but we do get the lovely HEA so that made me happy :)
It's my first Helena Harte book and won't be my last. It was so well-written and I was really pulled into the story from the first word.
