Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Bold, Brave, and Beautiful Memoir
Revisado: 08-04-18
This is a beautifully written and grippingly poignant story about love, loyalty, faith, violence, manipulation, courage, and self-discovery. I am deeply grateful to the author for bravely sharing her truth. I know that in so doing she has not only set herself free but also inspired others to do the same, myself included.

Historia
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship - the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

Prepare to feel deeply
Revisado: 05-23-18
I didn’t want this story to end. It was captivating, poignant, raw, real, tender, and heartfelt. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s narration was perfect for this story. I will be recommending this title strongly to adults as well as young adults.
