Pretty imaginative story (no surprise) but the ending WOW. I am surprised that the liberal writers would feel this way. An aging senile politician saves the world by committing suicide. Ponderous man, reallly ponderous.

I love the here and now to these little gems. I keep catching myself watching TV and little nagging voice saying they shouldn't be hugging...they are having a funeral...I would wear a mask if I went there....etc.
Just fun stories that made me feel better about the world today.

Fresh Story

Struggled through this

I could get past the harsh beginning of this. I like the full cast. Plot is a cool concept. Sooo much sodomy and it's all written as if it's the norm. (they like HOLE? REALLY??..so naive, so childish) In THIS first in series the women are written OK. A little dumbed down, Strong with some predictable personality. It's the first of this writer I've listened to. (2nd in the series I couldn't get past the first hour, Silence becomes a controlled leash pet with Mars controlling her like a little lap dog) I wish I had skipped this book.

Girls, the man owns you

S&M is all well and good, but this is beyond that. I'm not a feminist by any means, but these books are all about the men teaching the women lessons and owning them "nicely". I don't think this was written by a woman, if so it's a naive woman who has never had a male/female relationship, using a daddy issue as fuel. The first in the series wasn't too bad. Too many characters to keep up with, too many of the same traits.

Thoreau is a holier than thou snob. THIS is what passes for great classic literature? Food for beatnicks, hippies and hipsters. Changing the world by putting everything else down.

It's in German. I had to listen a few minutes because I started playing it, then got in my bathtub LOL. Sounded like the actors were good.

Trying to get through for Indie's sake

The story idea is pretty good. The author actually reads pretty well too, just wish it wasn't so tinny sounding. Not horrible. First book was pretty dog on good. Second book started getting on my nerves. Southern postman balling like a baby cause he get's beat up? Max whining cause his wife is around all the time...these things are ok, but there is a false sense of drama about them. I like to support Indie, and Jaffe seems to have some good ideas. I am on the second book. If I can't make it through it I'm returning though. I expect a writer to get better with a second book, not worse.

Geez, I don't cry often but this one had me in tears about every 20 minutes. Bottom line: Life sucks and is beautiful. Has me in tears right now writing this review.
