Historia
We are constantly bombarded with inaccurate, contradictory and sometimes misleading information - until now. Ben Goldacre masterfully dismantles the dubious science behind some of the great drug trials, court cases and missed opportunities of our time. He also shows us the fascinating story of how we know what we know, and gives us the tools to uncover bad science for ourselves.

important topic, chaotic drama, worst narrator
Revisado: 01-08-12
What did you like best about Bad Science? What did you like least?
The topic is important and the autor competent. The narrator wants to act, but he is the worst actor: tries to mock voices and exagerates the tones.
What did you like best about this story?
This is a comprehensive black book of the health and beauty industry. Not that it shows every single case but it rehears most of the mechanisms
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rupert Farley?
anyone
Did Bad Science inspire you to do anything?
I will eat more vegetables and fruits and no vitamine pilles, because its the only real thing

Historia
Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

Would you listen to Start with Why again? Why?
I would not listen to Start with Why again because there is not that much factual content but Sinek offers his special opinion on marketing and entrepreneurship in general
What aspect of Simon Sinek’s performance would you have changed?
Sinek tries to enchant the listener by a rater annoying alteration of tone and voice
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It gave me the courage to pursuit values in business activities, and I find the thought persuasive that we are need to meaning into our companies

Historia
Bruce Bueno de Mesquita is a master of game theory, which is a fancy label for a simple idea: People compete, and they always do what they think is in their own best interest. Bueno de Mesquita uses game theory and its insights into human behavior to predict and even engineer political, financial, and personal events. His forecasts, which have been employed by everyone from the CIA to major business firms, have an amazing 90 percent accuracy rate.

doubts remain: science or scam?
Revisado: 12-06-10
The author thinks politics can be modeled as games and simulated by a computer, thus the outcome of the simulation is an accurate prediction of the future, or can be used to nudge the outcome to a desirable position. This is an intriguing proposal for the listener. Unfortunately the Author gives only a glimpse on how his method works, and refers always to the "new algorithm" without describing it. Further, his hit score of over 90% sounds absurdly high, not to mention that he explains away the remaining 10%.
I have written him to disclose his algorithm a week ago and still waiting an answer.
Neverthanless I got really interested in game theory trought this audiobook even if the pleasant narrators voice did not reveal much about this modern and actual topic
