1909. Eleven-year-old Olive Radley knows that her stepfather is a threat to the two Choctaw girls boarded in their home. When the older girl disappears, Ollie flees, taking six-year-old Nessa with her. Along the way, they form an unlikely band with other children struggling to get by on their own.

Each book is even better than the last
Revisado: 01-28-25
The story telling is thoughtful and deep and leaves my wanting more no matter how long the book is. Wingate’s books are the only ones I enjoy rereading.

Trey Gowdy has found that most consequential decisions boil down to three simple options: start, stay, or leave.

Great book. Keeps getting better until end
Revisado: 11-08-24
Enjoyed this book. Recommended by friend. Each chapter seems to build and by the end I didn’t want the book to end. Started a little on the slow side. So glad I stayed with it.

Historia
What do you do when you start to feel a shift and must decide if it’s time to make a change? When it comes to navigating big decisions about when to stay and go, how can we know for sure when the time is right? Though we enter and exit many rooms over the course of our life—jobs, relationships, communities, life stages—knowing how and when it’s time to leave is a decision that rarely has a clear answer.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 08-03-24
The first part was good. Walking through her story of leaving her church. This really helped me step back and really evaluate some changes in my own life. Then it switched to more subtle these are good theological things. That’s where I stopped listening. The book was about making changes in your life , but it changed to you should believe these things. These things are better. To me the change felt almost manipulative. I was disappointed because I have read and enjoyed several of Freeman’s other books.

Historia
Brynn Cornell has to be stuck in a nightmare. Just last week, she was riding high as cohost of the popular morning show Sunup. She's America's Ray of Sunshine--the girl-next-door beauty who drives up TV ratings while never exuding anything but her trademark positivity and poise. All it took was one huge on-air mistake to expose her snarky side to the world and make it all come crumbling down. Now she's back in her hometown of Adelaide Springs, Colorado, in a last-ditch attempt to convince viewers she's not the mean girl they think she is.

Historia
What happens when danger and love collide under a Navajo moon? The search for a woman who disappeared in 1906 has lead cultural anthropologist Erin Dawson to Cedar Canyon, where the iconic terrain of red rock walls and mesas keep Navajo traditions - and maybe criminal evidence - well hidden. When Erin's search leads her to cross paths with tribal policeman Adam Silverhorn, it's hardly love at first sight. But everywhere she turns, Adam is already there.

Watch out for commercials
Revisado: 10-10-06
I bought this to listen to with my children. Between the books of the Bible there are commercials for Mercy Ministries. These are NOT appropriate for children. I am very disappointed that these commercials were not disclosed BEFORE I bought this.
