Great story. NOT so great narrator
Revisado: 08-04-19
I love all the books in the series, but I do NOT like this narrator. She is new to this series. She gives Daisy a squeaky, bubble headed voice, and she makes Piper sounds like he is 15. They need to switch back to one of the other two narrators. It has almost put me off of listening to this series.

Did not like the Narrator.
Revisado: 05-07-17
I am unable to give a proper review of this book, because I hated the Narrator/reader. I disliked him so much that I didn't' get more than 30 minutes into the book before I stopped listening all together.

Historia
From slave to freedom fighter: that was the long and hard journey taken by Frederick Douglass. Douglass was America's first great civil rights leader, and he threw off the physical, mental, and legal chains of slavery to become one of Americaï¿¿ï¿¿s greatest champions for human rights. It was said that his life was proof that once black people could read and write about their injustices, they would have the power to end slavery.

This is a children's book and not an adult's.
Revisado: 11-26-11
This book is written for a child or a youth and it definately reads that way. The story was choppy and did not flow and it was "dumbed down". I never finished it, and I love the biography of Frederick Douglas. It was just written for the education level of about a 5th grader.

Great book. We have all of the reading books so far, and now we are working on the audio. The audio is really good. My only recommendation is to go with a 3 or 4 on download. Make it a 4 whenever possible. It is worth it.
