Historia
Beyond the mountain range of the Adamantine Chain, Aqshy lies destroyed. Noxious fires light up the horizon, death skitters in the smoke, and a wasteland of horror threatens the entire realm. Humanity has but a single hope: the Reclusians of the Ruination Chamber. These Stormcast Eternals, though few in number, are the only force capable of enduring the perils of this dark era, for their souls are already broken.

Only on chapter 8...
Revisado: 10-16-24
Years ago I heard lots of people talk about a great movie called "Sideways". I watched it and hated it. I wanted to punch the protagonist in the face for being an idiot throughout the movie.
That's how I feel about Sephora (however it is spelled). She is the whiniest character. I get the anger for the character, but she's got no depth. I hate listening to this character. She is tedious to listen to. Unfortunately, it looks like she's being set up to be something of a skywalker for this story.
I'll edit this review if I can finish the audio book. But if someone eventually gives this character a punch in the face or removes from the plot, I will cheer.

Historia
In the dark corners of the Mortal Realms, the mad and mysterious Gloomspite Gitz go to war, following the trail of their abominable lunar deity. Nowhere is beyond the sight of the Bad Moon—not even those places under Sigmar’s protection, like the sweltering city of Draconium. Beneath the scalding rains of Aqshy, the city is a boiling pot of tension, its regent praying to Sigmar for guidance while Watch Captain Helena Morthan douses the fires of anarchy: blades drawn in the streets, heretical doomsayers preaching the end of days, and insects eating watchmen alive.

okay
Revisado: 09-22-23
Nice story. The narration is pretty good for all the voices except for the women. I don't know what it is, but the voices he makes for the women sound all the same to me and worse is they all sound like frightened old maids barely making it through the day. I'm sure the narrator was just trying to make them sound feminine, but the effect was awful. However, when the narrator does a gruff voice for a braggart, or a voice for the conniving Loon King, he's great.
Story was okay. Not much surprising in it. Good to listen to while painting grots and squigs.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Okay, but not
Revisado: 05-17-23
This is okay if you only read blogs and like less rigor in your writing. Having a degree in both psychology and philosophy, and having taught many classes in resilience in the military, it was entertaining at a basic, crude level, but didn’t do more than that for me. It didn’t challenge me, or give new ways of looking at things.

As good as I hoped it would be
Revisado: 05-16-23
I have tried a couple of the Age of Sigmar writings and they’re terrible. So it was refreshing when this book was of the quality missing from the previous books I’ve tried. The story was engaging even if I was a little confused what some tools were. A lot of these books assume you know what all the little things are without explaining them to you.

Morgravia Sanctus is being hunted. Something terrible has happened to her, a profound trauma that has left behind ‘red dreams’ and a physical agony that can strike at any moment. Her life in danger and her memory fragmented, she arrives in the low-hive of Blackgheist to escape her pursuers and search for ‘the Broker’ – a trafficker in memories and psychic mind manipulation. Soon after, a plague sweeps the city, turning its citizens into blood-hungry monsters. Order collapses, death and slaughter are rampant.

Flashes of brilliance in a disjointed story
Revisado: 04-28-23
Parts of this, I really loved. But most of the time I was confused as to what the hell was going on, why were we following this group now or that person then and so on. There are plot lines that have nothing to do with each other than just give you more flavor for the world, and all I can’t say with was more confusion. The ending was a let down. The secret plot point was really burying the lead and then underdeveloped. I was constantly pausing and trying to Google things to try and connect chapters that have nothing to do with each other.

Historia
Rising from the gloom-shrouded cults of Ulgu, the empire of the Daughters of Khaine now dominates the Realm of Shadow. These matriarchal witch-aelves are graceful masters of death who revel in spilling blood, and whose opposition to Chaos borders on mania. Proud governors of their own ruthless agendas, it is their devotion to Khaine, the ancient aelven god of murder, the Daughters seek to prove above all—and alongside it, the favour of his high priestess, Morathi. To this end, a Khainite would bleed the realms dry in dedication to her cause.

As generic as a saltine
Revisado: 04-18-23
The first story is barely more than a mad lib. The second is not much better. The actors are blood spilling killers, but express at times the most naive emotions. I was hoping to experience the age of signal, the zeal of these cultists, and come away with a little bit more of an understanding of this faction. But they have less depth than 80’s movie sorority girls.
I hate to be so negative. I wish I hadn’t wasted my time on this and listen to something else as I painted minis. Go find something better. This is ketchup added to water and called soup. We accept it because there isn’t anything else.
(edit)
I'm trying really hard to finish this. I'm into chapter 5 of the last book, and it is terribly boring. After 2 and a half books in this collection, I know nothing more about the world everyone is living in, what it's like to live there, what motivations of groups are, histories, or anything. This is all a bunch of catty sorority sisters who hate each other, back stab each other every chance they get, hold grudges, and then wonder why blood rituals don't work. The world is flat and dead. It doesn't live. The characters are a bore. There's no reason to root for them, against them, or be indifferent. Why cheer for one character over another? They're just going to whine about mysteriously losing favor because they don't feel anything when they do a blood ritual. Follow this 'I wonder what is wrong' with 'I hate her, I'm going to kill her when as soon as I can'.
I can't finish this book.

Hard to listen
Revisado: 12-18-21
The sound quality of this is terrible. Also, the reading itself isn’t that great. I am giving it three stars on the story simply as an average. I can’t listen to it long enough to decide as the quality is that poor.

In business, the right behaviors matter. But getting it right is tricky. Even when we acknowledge the need to change what we do and how we do it, life has a habit of getting in the way, upsetting even the best-laid plans. And just how do we manage those situations that can provoke even the most rational among us into behaving in ways we would rather forget?

Good info, but would've liked a condensed version
Revisado: 10-23-16
The book is good. My criticism isn't so much about the book but it's relation to me. I kept wanting to fast forward it. It is like when you're at the office and find yourself in a conversation with someone and you see where it is headed and would like to save the five minutes it'll take to get there and just skip to the punch.
