When Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin boldly escaped from Alcatraz prison on June 11, 1962, it is widely believed that they succumbed to the waters of San Francisco Bay, though no trace of the men has ever been found, only their makeshift raft.

Very interesting to obtain family perspective
Revisado: 04-20-25
Such a different account than all others I have heard. Was interesting to hear of the family ties, that their lives of crime stemmed from poverty. Would be fascinating to hear how they lived in Brazil what force moved them to change from a life of crime
Is not a real fast paced book but kept my attention throughout

Historia
For decades, Nick Burns has been haunted by a decision he made as a young soldier in World War I, when a French artist he’d befriended thrust both her paintings and her baby into his hands—and disappeared. In 1974, with only months left to live, Nick enlists Jenny, a college dropout desperate for adventure, to help him unravel the mystery. The journey leads them from Paris galleries and provincial towns to a surprising place: the Museum of Tears, the life’s work of a lonely Italian craftsman.

It was quite slow
Revisado: 03-26-25
Overall the story was ok but was very slow, I had to rewind several times. It became quite apparent early on who the baby was. The whole thing was just predictable.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

The portrayal of psychiatrists was antiquated
Revisado: 02-27-25
I didn’t like that psychiatrist was portrayed as a counselor with a couch in their office. They typically are not counselors, social workers and psychologists do much more of that than psychiatrists and a couch, really?? And I believe MD’s and DO’s are required to report crimes regardless of confidentially issues for public health and safety concerns. Was ok story but not one I would highly recommend

This was gut wrenching. Thankfully laws on stalking and domestic violence are changing but this went through so much of what a woman being abused and stalked would go thru. I loved the narration! The British terms were fun to hear

Incredible stories
Revisado: 02-01-25
Was sad how long it took these cases to actually end up in court. Author actually did an excellent job narrating his book, was very easy to listen to although the stories themselves were hard to take. Incredible job, not easy dealing with such deranged creatures for years and years! Thanks for sharing

Way too long
Revisado: 01-22-25
Could have used a lot of editing, was far longer than it needed to be. Not much suspense, highly predictable. Couple of surprises but nothing that changed the predictability. Narration ok for the soap opera the book was. I made it thru but knew the ending half way thru.

Old story: macho marine takes on bunches of trained killers, kills them all, on and on. Maybe the narrator didn’t add enough to make it more captivating but was all very predictable. Will not listen to more if series
