Historia
Fahima Deeb changed everything seven years ago when she triggered the Pulse, imbuing millions of people with otherworldly gifts like flight, telekinesis, or superhuman strength. She thought that would herald the end of the hostilities between those with abilities and those without, but it instead highlighted a new problem: There is someone behind the scenes, able to influence and manipulate these newly empowered people into committing horrible acts against their will.

With a Great Editor this Book Could Really be Epic
Revisado: 04-28-25
The writer is very talented, and this book still seems like it needs a great editor. It is enjoyable, nonetheless. The story is thought-provoking and original. In this second book in the series the characters are brought to life more fully, and the plot is exciting and even moving at times. I’d like to listen to more from this author and look forward to his growth and development. At one point he quotes from one of my all time favorite poems and poet (Theodore Roethke’s The Waking), and that showed me he must be well-read and love words like me. I highly recommend this listen.

It’s like an X-men Origin Story Told from a Different Point of View
Revisado: 04-17-25
You might think: who needs another x-men, but this book is innovative in that it tells the story of people with powers often from the point of view of other regular family members without powers. The book made me think, especially given the current political climate in the US. That’s one sign of a good to great book for me. The story isn’t perfect, but the narration is excellent, and it’s engaging.

Compiled by intrepid journalist Neve Pride, this archive of recordings spans the months after dragons emerged on earth, chronicling the communities that sprang up amid the destruction, the scientists, military leaders, and experts searching for a defense, and those steadfastly seeking the missing. Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

Very well-written and Narrated Adventure with Great Details
Revisado: 04-09-25
I enjoyed this performance and story A LOT, and I usually do not like voice actors performing books with all the bells and whistles. The talented voice actors were excellent for the most part, and the story was super engaging from a plot and character perspective. I wish there were a part 2 right now to listen to.

I love Orphan X’s character
Revisado: 02-20-25
This is the least good book in the series. To me it seemed more like an outline of a story. I still enjoyed it somewhat, but it was not as exciting and full of twists and turns as usual.

Awesome narration
Revisado: 01-27-25
I had no idea this former television actor had become such a fabulous narrator capable of doing all kinds of voices and accents. Amazing! I love thinking about these what-if , thought-provoking type books. The book reminds me of a tamer version of The Walking Dead in the types of thoughts the book sparks. The story is good and the main character likable and multidimensional.

Took about 20 minutes to warm up to this book, but it became very engrossing. I absolutely loved the characters, especially the celebrity auteur Rosie. It’s a fun, thoughtful romp of a story.
