the storyline is filled with mystery and adventure. the author weaves historical facts into the plot without being dry or dragging. I recommend it for young adults who like adventures. the moving through time is skillfully accomplished by the author so even those with comprehension issues will follow easily. The narrator uses multiple voices and inflections that make it enjoyable and easy to follow the story.

this being book 8 in a series of books that gradually grow in intensity, adult situations, and thrilling suspense. the authors seem to have an excellent way of gauging events that flow together from book to book. while this book could be read as a standalone, it does end in a cliffhanger. the narrators are excellent they switch between voices and inflections that reflect the emotions and traits of the characters they portray. I have read the books in this series and will read the next book because they have held my interest had me thinking about them when I wasn't reading them and kept me entertained as the epic tale unfolds. the author's obviously did a lot of research on the gods and goddesses, the scenes such as London and Paris, and the surreal worlds of these gods, goddesses, semi-gods and the list of other memorable well-rounded characters in their stories. I would recommend these authors and these narrators as very talented entertainers.

The storyline of this series is well written and exciting. Each book in the series builds on the story before it. The characters are well rounded and believable. I enjoyed that the author seemed to capture the mindset of the gods and goddesses. They were incorporated into a modern setting without losing the ancient feel. Setting the story in Greece was a great idea. The story is about a strong female character who feels like an outcast, different and yet proud and capable. She is not afraid to speak her mind most times this flaw causes much turmoil. As the books progress the students mature and learn to be strong warriors and develop into young adults.
The gods continue to plot secretive plans to gain more power or invoke revenge, just as the original tales. The students seem to mirror a typical high school cast society which should be very relatable to the reader. There is multiple subplots but are easy to keep track of as the talented author tells the many layer story.
I would recommend the series to older high school age and yes even old adult readers who like to read mystery, romance, historical, warrior storylines. I will be reading more stories by these authors.
I listened to the audible version of the series and found the narrators spoke with inflection and at a good pace. Their changing between the various characters was smooth and I found it easy to discern which character was speaking. I look forward to listening to more stories told by these narrators.

This is a part of a series of books with a PG-13 rating. They can be read a stand alone novels. This is a great Holocaust themed story. It would be a good intro into the horrors of Natzi oppupied Europe. I would recommend this to readers middle school or older. I love that the author describes the city and the paintings in such vivid detail. At first, I was not sure how anyone could find the owners of artwork after so much time and horrible events, but the author shows that this is a possibility. The strong-willed intelligent, Zelda was going to find justice even if it means facing a murder, liar, a pretious museum worker, a larger than life victim and a fly boy friend. I could see this as a Hallmark movie.

The author is so talented at describing Amsterdam and the beautiful art as well as the inner workings of a museum trying to do the right thing. The museum hires Zelda, an American art student, to help make the descriptions of the art clearer. She has an agenda to get into the art program. In her medailing way she could not only lose her life, her relationship, her home and the lives of those around her. Amsterdam is a progressive city with a past some good and some bad. The author retells the good and the bad in a story that is seamlessly woven between World War 2 and present day. The narrator did a wonderful job keeping the characters straight with her changing voices and even changing her pace of speaking to match the traits of the characters.

The story was well written and takes you on a magical journey with Nate, a 15 year old boy who is bullied and stutters. Nate dreams of becoming a wizard, but in his land a peasant has never been chosen to be a wizard. Despite the odds, Nate gains favor with the red wizard and is selected to embark on an action-packed journey. the whole while you wonder if he will be able to overcome his shortcomings to become a wizard. The authors, J S Jaeger, have told a great epic in just the first book in the series. The dialogue is brilliantly done by RJ Walker, the narrator, who helped to bring to life a tapestry of interesting characters who are not all as they seem. The story has a few larger vocabulary words, which are explained in the text of the story quite well. I enjoyed the laughter and tears in this story which is sure to hold any ones interest. The narrator uses accents and inflection to convey various characters, but the same accent is used for the elves or trolls, ect. to show which type of creature is speaking. I thought this was an excellent touch. There are lots of pearls of wisdom in this story of overcoming adversity. I think it is a good book for those readers/listeners who might be dealing with bullying or striving toward a goal or even those who have experienced loss. While the book is for a middle school reader, it can be easily read by older readers with a lower reading level or by younger readers with a higher reading level. As it is not watered down nor condescending in any way. It is a great introduction into the world of the sci fi/ fantasy genre. It could easily be used as a summer reader.

The authors, J S Jaeger, wove the story seamlessly. There are no choppy or left out bits and in the end it doesn't leave a major cliff hanger making it not only the start to a great series , but also an awesome stand alone book as well. The characters, while mythical, are believable and most are well rounded with complex personalities. It has a few plot twists that helped continue interest and suspense. It is a fun story, which was enhanced by the audio. The narrator, JR Walker, was able to bring each character's unique personality to light while continuing to maintain an accent designated to each creature. He spoke for both girls and boys in this story and with changes in his voice was able to convey who was speaking and their emotional state. He really made the story come to life. The audio was clear and the narrator spoke in at an easy to follow pace making this a great production as well. I will look forward to reading/listening to more books by these wonderful authors and this talented narrator.
