Ugh, so disappointed!

I LOVE all things Kristen Ashley. Except for this book. I wish narrators would just speak in their own voice, instead of trying to sound breathy and sexy.. which has the exact opposite affect. I was cringing at the reading from the start. But more, I love the words and language KA uses in her writing so much - it makes you forget your not actually in the story. This book was the total opposite. So much of it was cliche and fell flat in description - totally unlike any other KA books I've read (which is a lot). I didn't even finish this one, was so turned off by the words and the reading. Waste of a credit, unfortunately. All the rest of KA's books are FABULOUS!

So disappointing to change the narrator

The Rock Chick series have been the most fun, my favorite books I've listened to on Audible. And I've listened to a lot. But changing the narrator on the last book ruined it all for me. I couldn't even finish listening, ditched the whole thing only a couple of hours in. The sounds of all the characters I'd come to love, including Shirleen's, were just too different (and not at all fitting with the characters). Shirleen and Moses sounded like everything they said was some seductive whisper, not a real conversation. It got very annoying, very quickly. What a shame, and waste of money.

Finnally, a great story and a GREAT narrator

I'm always surprised when I hear a really awful narrator on Audible - I can't believe any author or publisher would allow their book to be ruined by someone who's doing a terrible job reading it. I fell in love with Kristen Ashley books, but some have fallen into that exact situation. Not the Rock Chick series! The stories and characters are so fun, and the narrator does an awesome job capturing the tone of each. I would HIGHLY recommend this series!

I stumbled upon Kristen Ashley a while ago, and thoroughly enjoyed almost all of her books. Unfortunately, a lot of times, the narrator they choose can take away from the writing, but the characters and plot are usually enough to keep me listening. After abandoning the last book in her 'Burg Series (Hold On), which I've almost never done, I was skeptical about starting a new series. I am SO happy I did it anyway.. this was my favorite KA book yet. The narrator was awesome, and really gave some extra life to the characters. I finished Rock Chick in record time, and am on to the next one. Faith restored!

Good story, despite cringe-worthy narration

I wonder if anyone at Audible or the publishing company listens to the readings of the books after they're recording. If I were an author, I'd be ticked if one of my great books was virtually ruined because the narrator(s) were not good. That's the case with this book. The male narrator was ok, but he mispronounced one of the characters name through the whole thing. The female narrator - she must be an actress trying to make it in Hollywood. She was so breathy, it was not fun to listen to.
All of that aside, I did enjoy the story. Nothing to win a nobel prize, but very entertaining for my long commute to/from work.

After loving so many Kristen Ashley box, this one is terrible!

Wasn't crazy about the narrator in the first book in the series, but I ended up really liking the story. The combination of a cliché laden plot, and the narrator making everyone sound like they were from the Jersey Shore in his one, actually caused me to delete this book with 7 hrs left to go. I've never done that before. Ugh, how disappointing all the way around! Hope the next one makes up for it. The Mountain Man and Fantasy series were awesome!

Didn't expect to, but LOVED it

Based on the description, it sounded like a far fetched story that I would have a hard time getting in to. Just the opposite! I've been using my headphones and listening every chance I get. The writer and narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life, making them feel real. You know a story is well written when you forget it's a story.

Good listen for beach time or road trip

Great for a surface deep love story. Very disappointed to read a story about Scots that didn't even talk about how hot they look in their kilt! The narrator did a good job, pleasant sounding and did a decent job with the accents. As long as you're not looking for an intellectually stimulating book, I would recommend it!

Good read, disappointing ending

I got hooked on the story, but didn't appreciate having to buy the second book in order to get the conclusion to the first one. Overall, it sucked me in, so I have no choice but to get it!

Lovely

I do wish there had been a little bit more sex, but overall the story was truly lovely. And listening to it in a British accent made it even more genuine.
