I listen to a lot of old rock legend biographies and autobiographies, but this was as fun and exciting to me personally as any of those !I love woody allen more than ever now and found this a fun listen all the way through...the time flew by!
And for the record I find Woody's account of the Mia Farrow years to be candid and consistent. I feel he was innocent and that Mia Farrow was the real monster...there is a lot of collaborating evidence online to support this. That's why this culture of crucifying men at the word of ONE WOMAN is wrong! all abuse should be investigated, but we should never hang someone unfairly based on the words of one person with no proof!

Great book. Better than Slash's....

I got a way better feel for the dynamics of GnR than I did reading Slash's book which while maybe better written, I felt like glossed over so many things, and didn't reveal anything of the other band member's personalities much. This made me feel like I was there in the band a LOT more than Slash's book. True, some people may be put off by Adler's somewhat immature tone of voice and over-focus on sex at times...but then again some may like that! It certainly gave the book a candid feel of honesty to have it so clearly in Adler's tone of voice.
Anyway a very interesting read for any GnR fan. My favorite part was when Axl showed up at Adler's bedside during after his first OD. It's nice to hear something sweet Axl did since all I've been hearing since about 1987 is what an intolerable prick he is...
The reader turned me off at first...but within a few chapters, his reading style was one of my favorite parts of the audiobook experience =)

Only 49 cents. Never read as a kid. Loved it as an adult hearing it for first time. Would not pay more for the newer version with a different narrator. This guy was perfect.
